Dear Lord

We thank you for the many blessings

we have received this term.

We voice our gratitude for the good things

you have done in us

and we praise you for all who have shared

in the work at our school.

We ask you to please bless all our students,

their families and staff.

And give them refreshment and peace during these holidays.

Amen

Term 3 Reflection

Hard to believe we are at the end of Term Three, it has certainly gone very quickly.

Much has happened this term and there have been some excellent opportunities for all of our students here at Queen of Apostles. Term Four will be no different and I encourage each and every student in our school to keep striving to be the best person they can be. I also thank our parent community for your support throughout the term. There will be many more opportunities to be involved next term such as the Quiz Night and Colour Run.

Staffing

I would like to let the community know about some staffing changes for 2024.

I would like to congratulate Mrs Brianna Joiner and her husband Callan who are expecting their first child early next year. This is excellent news and I know they are both very excited about the journey ahead. They will make wonderful parents and I wish them all the best.

We have been busy finding Brianna’s replacement for next year and I’m pleased to announce that Miss Lauren Moro was the successful applicant. Lauren is currently teaching at St Joseph’s in Moora and is excited to be joining our community.

Miss Tanya Pavlovic who joined us this semester will also be leaving us at the end of the year and returning to Santa Clara in St James. Tanya has done an excellent job with our Year 3 class; she is looking forward to Term 4 and finishing off the year well.

Our Administration Officer on Tuesdays to Thursdays, Mrs Terri Healey, has decided the time is right to retire at the end of this year. Terri has been amazing in her role and I thank her for her commitment to this school and community. I have worked closely with Terri over the last 3 years and will miss her sense of humour and enthusiasm she brings.

Mrs Kathy Duncanson who is our current Administration Officer on Monday and Friday will be taking on the role full time next year. I know Kathy is excited about this change and we are very happy to have her here on a full-time basis.

More information on staffing and year level teachers will be presented at our Annual Community Meeting on November 15. Please mark this important date in your diary.

Open Night

It was great to welcome our families to school and the classrooms on Tuesday evening. There was a real buzz in the air with many excited children taking their family members on a journey around the school. Each of the classrooms really looked the part and it was great to see the wonderful work the students have been doing. The Book Fair was very popular again and so were each of our specialist teacher rooms.

I would like to thank the hard working and dedicated staff for the hours of work to get ready for Open Night. It is very much appreciated! I would also like to thank our Year 6 parents for feeding our community on the night.

Quiz Night

On Friday 20th October, Week 2 in Term 4, the P&F Quiz night is taking place in the hall beginning at 6.30pm. Events like these are fantastic for our community and really add to our sense of belonging.

Obviously, a great deal of work goes into organising an event like this and I would like to thank the P&F for the amazing job in coordinating this event so far. There are many donations and great prizes coming in. We even have a signed and framed Sam Kerr Australia jersey as one of the auction items. You certainly don’t want to miss out on an opportunity to bid on this!

Get your table together and register via the poster in the P&F section of the newsletter. Or via this link

It promises to be lots of fun!
