March 29-April 5 Spring Break, Schools closed - no virtual instruction

Dear Families,

Happy March! We appreciate your continued support of our Eagles as we adjust to the new schedule. Our Eagles are doing great and we know it is from the educational partnership of our families and teachers.

Thank you for supporting our PTA on Monday night at Chick-fil-A and for celebrating Read Across America this week. Our students are currently participating in a Beanstack challenge. The challenge asks students to read 20 minutes daily. I hear if we reach our school goal, I may have a silly challenge of my own to complete.

In addition to the other sites offering meals:

Starting Wednesday, March 3 - FCPS Food and Nutrition Services will be distributing "to-go" breakfast, lunch and dinner from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. on WEDNESDAYS ONLY. These meals are enough for all seven days of the week.

Distribution sites will be at these two locations:

• Discovery Shopping Center Parking Lot, 8425 Woodsboro Pike, Walkersville
• Frederick Shopping Center Parking Lot, 1305 W. 7th Street, Frederick

Meals will be distributed from a school bus in the shopping center parking lots. Meals are free to all students 18 years old and younger. The recipients do not have to be FCPS students. Children do not have to be present to receive meals; a parent, guardian or other adult may pick up the food.

FCPS Food and Nutrition Services also provides meals to adults who are enrolled in an education program for people with disabilities.

We ask that transportation changes occur only in an emergency situation. Dismissal routines and procedures were planned with what families/guardians had indicated. In our current environment, changes can be difficult due to bus capacity restrictions and car rider routines that have been established. We appreciate your understanding.

For your child's safety, please only allow your child to exit the car during morning drop-off when you have pulled next to the curb at the gymnasium. Similarly, please stop along the curb to pick up your child at dismissal. We do not want students walking were there is no sidewalk. Thank you!
