April 2026
Family Newsletter
Hello Greenwood Families,
Spring break is complete and I hope you enjoyed the time. Thank you for your continued partnership in your child's learning, by attending spring conferences. This makes a huge difference in the gains that children make and is greatly appreciated! Once gain thank you.
We are in the final stretch of the school year. It has been one amazing year, filled with fun and learning. The learning never stops at Greenwood! April is packed with opportunities, so please take a moment to read the "Looking Ahead" section and flyer below with details.
LOST & FOUND
Is your child missing a clothing item upon their return home? As the weather warms, it seems our lost and found grows. Please be sure to check the lost and found. Any items left at the end of the year will be washed and donated.
YEARBOOKS
This year has been filled with memories and we are still making them! This is why you should purchase your yearbook today! You can visit ybpay.lifetouch.com and enter our school code 14986826 to get yours. Our building goal is to sale out by April 10th.
M-STEP
It is that time for our 3rd grade students to show what they know on the 2026 M-STEP. As we have been preparing for this all year, here are some ways you can support at home.
Make sure your child gets to school on time to help the day start off smoothly
Get a good night's sleep
Eat a good breakfast (we will have breakfast at school too)
Encourage them to do their "personal best" and take breaks when needed
Encourage them to reread questions and take their time
Encourage them to pay close attention in class during review of all that they have learned this year
Encourage them to raise their hands in class and ask questions when they don't understand directions
Attendance Matters
The final months of the school year are crucial for learning and growth!
Key attendance reminders:
- Every day counts. Arriving on time and not leaving early make a difference.
- Stay home when you're truly ill and come to school if you are able.
Kahoot Reading Challenge Winners
In celebration of Literacy Month, Greenwood families read or listened to the book "Stink and the Incredible Super-Galactic Jawbreaker". At an all school assembly, students picked a representative that would answer trivia questions about the book.
Here are our Reading Rockstars!
March Is Literacy Month
Greenwood students ended literacy month with Bagels and Books! We welcomed Martin Luther King Jr. Leadership Scholars, of WMU. Greenwood students had the opportunity to read books with the scholars, after enjoying bagels (special thanks to Ms. Phillips for joining).
