After-School Tutoring Sign-Ups April 2025

Spirit Week Spirit Week

Dear 7th Grade parents/guardians:

It's time to think about signing your student up for Spanish I for 8th grade. This class is offered as a full-year course for RMS 8th graders, taught in conjunction with the World Language program at Spaulding High School.

Students who complete Spanish 1 successfully (“B” or better for an overall grade) at RMS can go directly into Spanish 2 upon entry during their Freshman year at SHS. Students who receive an overall grade of "C" will need teacher recommendation for Spanish 2.

This course is for students who love learning about Language and Culture! It is an Academic course that includes note taking, homework, projects, quizzes and exams, as well as an expectation for active participation in class.

Students interested in signing up for this class will need to have taken Spanish class in 6th or 7th grade and passed with an overall end of trimester grade of either Competent or Exceeds Competent. Forms are available outside of Room 176 and the cafeteria. Signed forms are due by Friday, May 23rd.

Questions and interest should be directed to:

During late February and through the month of March, NJHS held a Food Drive to support Gerry's Food Pantry here in Rochester. All RMS Teams were encouraged to participate in the collection of dry boxed goods and canned goods for the food pantry. Those Teams who collected 100 or more items would be awarded $25.00, those Teams who collected 200 or more items would be awarded $50.00, and those Teams who collected 300 or more items would be awarded $75.00! Teams who earned awards were as follows. Duke University, Southern New Hampshire University, and the University of Hawaii all were awarded $25.00 to their Team Accounts for collecting over 100 items. The biggest accolades “and bragging rights” go to Drexel University who was awarded $75.00 for bringing in over 300 items! Very Impressive Indeed!! After tallying all that was donated, faculty and students brought in well over 600 hundred food items! On Wednesday, April 9th, NJHS members were able to meet with representatives LeeAnn Bruneau and Chris of Gerry's Food Pantry to present these donations. Both Ms. Bruneau and Chris were very appreciative and personally thanked the School and the National Junior Honor Society kids for supporting the food drive. On behalf of National Junior Honor Society, we would like to once again thank you, the RMS Community, for your assistance with this worthwhile endeavor!!
