Mrs. Stark's Message
Although a short week, we were all excited to welcome back our returning students and meet the new first graders!! A huge thank you goes out to the Birch staff for surprising students these past two days. It was wonderful to have their familiar faces here to help our first grade friends find their way!!!
The first couple of days have been all about learning routines and procedures. We talked a lot about our expectations of being KIND, being SAFE, and being RESPONSIBLE. You will hear us continue to focus on those things all throughout the school year!
Don't forget to update your back to school forms- even if your information hasn't changed. Please review your current information to make sure it's still accurate. We need this information to ensure our contacts for your child are up-to-date! Please don't hesitate to contact Mrs. Miller with any questions.
Breakfast is free and is served each morning from 7:55-8:10. If your child is going to be late to school, be sure that they have eaten before they arrive. We will clean up breakfast by 8:18 when we begin our morning announcements.
Upcoming Dates
- 8/26 Maple Produce Market 4:30 - 6:30pm
- 9/1 NO SCHOOL ~ Labor Day
Have a wonderful weekend,
Mrs. Stark
First Day Fun!
Arrival & Dismissal
THANK YOU for your patience with our arrival and dismissal process these past two days. We take the safety of your children very seriously and this causes things to take longer the first few days. I have attached maps below to assist with the traffic flow.
A few reminders are listed below as we head into next week:
- Please make sure you have your orange parent pick-up sign in your front window, as it helps us quickly match cars to students.
- Students may begin entering the building at 7:55 for an 8:10 start time. Dismissal begins at 2:50pm.
- Please drive slowly in our driveway and parking lot. This ensures that staff and students stay safe!
- When exiting the building, you are required to make a right-hand turn to help the flow of traffic.
Maple PTA News
Save the Date!
The county wide Fathers Walk (Special Persons Walk) will be held on Thursday, September 18th.
On this day, your child's special person can park on Frank Street and walk your child to school. They will be given a snack upon arrival and there will be photo opportunities. Students will then enter the building to begin their school day.
More information to come.
The Maple staff would also like to say THANK YOU to the PTA for providing the staff with snacks to help them stay energized the first few days! That was greatly appreciated!
Maple Expectations
We will be talking a lot about our 3 expectations at Maple.
Be Kind
Be Safe
Be Responsible
... Be an EAGLE!!
We will talk about what these things mean in all areas of the building. We even have a Maple pledge that we say each morning:
At Maple we pledge to do what’s right:
Be Kind- be a friend, be polite.
Be Safe- in all we do and say,
Be Responsible- every day.
I am proud to:
Be an EAGLE!
Bravo Bell
Did you notice our Bravo Bell during open house? At Maple we encourage students to set goals, make a plan to achieve them, and then celebrate when they reach their goal! Hearing that bell and seeing the pride in their faces when the ring it is PRICELESS!!
We are looking forward to hearing that bell ring a lot this school year!
Parent Square
Parent Square is a communication tool to stay connected to what is going on in your child's classroom and the school. Sometimes, we have last minute information to share. Although we will still send out weekly newsletters, connecting to Parent Square will allow you to communicate with your child's teacher easier and receive important reminders from the school.
Previously, many teachers used "Remind". Parent Square bought Remind. This app works very similar to Remind.
What do we need from you? We need you to download the free app. Please see the directions below to get connected!
Kindness Tree
Our Kindness Tree at Maple is filling up! When students demonstrate kindness, they get to sign a maple leaf and hang it on our tree. Our goal is to fill the tree this school year! Congratulations to Alethea and Shaquille in Miss Vasu's class for being the first two students to put a leaf on the tree for showing kindness during a collaborative activity.
