Bernice Young Elementary School May 5

New Information

Staff and students celebrated Mrs. Norwood on Thursday for Principal's day with the theme "Hip Hip Hooray! Our Super hero saves the day!" We are so lucky to have Mrs. Norwood leading Young Elementary! It does seem like she has super powers---she does so much all day every day.

Happy May! Lots of fun is coming this month. Check out dates below. PTA is selling t-shirts for Field Day. They are optional and pre-purchase only. There is a short turnaround on the shirts. Orders due on May 7th. Field Day will be after the talent show on May 22nd.

This week we have an open house for our future kindergarten students! If you know a future kindergartener, please share information below. We hope to see them Monday. On Wednesday, our 1st graders have Stick Horse Rodeo at Young Elementary School. It will be a fun day!

If your child has read-a-thon bucks, remember those have to be spent by Sunday, May 4th. We don't want students to miss out on this opportunity if they earned them.

We have three weeks of school left and we want to finish strong. Please have your child at school each day (unless they are sick). If you have any doctor notes from days your child(ren) have missed, please send them to the office. As a reminder, you will receive a phone call on days that your child has an absence. We also send attendance letters when they have 3,5,7 unexcused absences. When students are present, they are learning!

Principal's Day! Super Hero Mrs. Norwood!

Note From The PTA 📚

Hey BYE families, Teacher & Staff Appreciation Week is coming soon! Check out the great things we have planned. We are thankful for your support in making this happen.

Our last PTA meeting will be on Tuesday, May 13th at 8:00AM in the library. Stop and grab brunch on your way as a thank you for volunteering this school year.
