Good Morning,
A reminder that there is no school on Monday, November 11th as it is a day to remember all of our Veterans.
Playground Excitement:
We were so excited to celebrate the grand opening of the playground and school on Friday morning. Thank you to all of our families that attended! The students are absolutely loving their new play area. See some of the highlights from today's event, below.
Turkey Trot:
The WECC Parent Council will sponsor the Annual Turkey Trot to take place in our parking lot (outside of door #7) on Wednesday, 11/13 and Thursday, 11/14. We invite all families to attend this exciting event. See the schedule below for your child's time outside at this fun event.
Parent Education Opportunity:
Please join us as we welcome our November Parent Empowerment Series presenter
Mrs. Costa LMHC (Child Life Counselor) as she helps us learn how to incorporate
positive behavior support strategies that will help improve behavioral success through
non-punitive and proactive techniques.
Positive Behavioral Support (PBS) is a school wide framework that offers an approach
to develop an understanding of why children engage in challenging behavior and
strategies to prevent challenging behaviors while teaching them new skills. This
workshop will focus on how to implement and carry over these PBS strategies into the
home environment. We will review how to help your child identify their feelings, work
through challenging emotions while gaining appropriate coping skills. We will also
review preventive strategies such as creating routines, rules and schedules.

I'm a Super Reader
Help us reach our goal of 10,000 books
One of the most important gifts we can give our children is to help them learn to read and write so that they can succeed in school and beyond. Confident, active readers are able to use their reading skills to follow their passions and curiosity about the world. We all read for a purpose: to be entertained, to take a journey of the imagination, to connect with others, to figure out how to do something, and to learn about history, science, the arts, and everything else.
We hope to foster the love of reading in our students. Please help us by helping your child read each day. Attached is a reading chart that your child can color each time they read a book. Bring the reading chart to school once all apples are colored and your child will receive a Super Reader sticker. You may choose to only read 10 books per month or submit as many reading charts as you want. We will be keeping track by classroom. If JECC students reach the goal of 10,000 books, we will have a Bubble party at the end of the year.
Help our students reach their goal!
