Dear Naples Park Families,

May is upon us, and it may be the most academically rigorous month we have, as well as the most fun with many end of the year events celebrating our Sharks.

Our year-end assessments will showcase the hard work our staff and students put into this school year and continue to occur this month. We ask that students come to school well rested, have a healthy breakfast and are ready to show what they know! The teaching and learning have been amazing this year, and I am very excited about what these Sharks are going to achieve.

Following testing, multiple grade levels have field trips🚍 planned. A group of incredible readers will be celebrated via “Books📚 and Chuck-e-Cheese” with Mrs. Serrano. Moving up ceremonies 🏆 for multiple grade levels are planned. Grad Walk 👩🏽‍🎓👨🏽‍🎓 to celebrate former NPE Sharks who are graduating from high school will again be celebrated this year. We are also excited for our annual PBIS Water Day💦 celebration made especially for Sharks to celebrate them for their hard work. We are very excited about all of our upcoming celebrations.

It is good to be at Naples Park Elementary School…Home of the Sharks!

Hello Families,

Our Spring testing is in full swing! See the information below about upcoming testing dates, NPE procedures on testing days and how you can help your child prepare.

Closed Campus

Due to state and district testing, Naples Park Elementary will operate as a closed campus on the following dates. This means guests will not be permitted to join students for lunch in the cafeteria or visit campus on these dates.

May 5, 6, 7, 8, 12,13,14, 18, 19

How can you help?

  • Ensure your child is present on their assigned testing days.
  • Testing begins promptly at 8:30 AM, so arriving on time is essential.
  • Please avoid scheduling early dismissals on testing days. Once a student begins a state assessment, they may not leave and return to complete it.

Please note: Student participation in the state-wide assessment program is mandatory per Florida Statute 1008.22(3)(a).

Please reach out with any questions at kovisk@collierschools.com or 239-377-7702.

Sincerely,

Mrs. Krystal Kovis , Assistant Principal

Counselor Corner- Mrs. Ruben Counselor Corner- Mrs. Ruben

Greetings from the Counselor’s Corner,

For the month of May, we are focusing on our character trait of:

INTEGRITY

Integrity means doing the right thing—even when no one is watching.

  • Being honest – telling the truth, even if it might get you in trouble
  • Keeping your promises – doing what you say you will do
  • Making good choices – even when it’s hard or when others may not be
  • Taking responsibility – admitting mistakes instead of blaming others

A simple way to say it is:
“Integrity is when your actions match your words, and you choose to do what is right.”

Each month, we celebrate one student from every class who demonstrates our CCPS character traits. These traits are taught and reinforced daily through Fintastics, positive referrals, Student of the Month awards, and more.

Feeding Dreams: Power Packs Program (2026–2027 School Year)
If you are interested in your child receiving a weekly Power Pack (a bag of food provided at no cost during the school year), please contact Mrs. Ruben at 239-377-7806. This program is made possible through the generosity of donors and grant partners.

Fintastics & School Store
Our school store is open Thursdays and Fridays before school from 7:45–8:20 AM. Students earn Fintastics by following NPE expectations and can redeem them for items and experiences such as crafts with Mrs. Ruben, a healthy snack from Mrs. Jonas, lunch with a friend, wearing a hat to school, munchies in the media center, and much more.

Students are encouraged to keep working hard and earning those Fintastics!

Mrs. Hale’s Literacy Corner Mrs. Hale’s Literacy Corner

We’ve made it to the end of a wonderful school year! May is a time to celebrate all the growth your children have made in reading and writing. From building confidence to sharing their ideas, we are so proud of their hard work.

Celebrating Growth
This year, students have:

  • Strengthened reading skills and stamina
  • Grown as writers and thinkers
  • Built vocabulary and comprehension

Ask your child what they are most proud of—you might be surprised!

Keep Reading This Summer

  • Read 15–20 minutes a day
  • Let your child choose what they enjoy
  • Visit the local library or try audiobooks

Keep Writing

  • Journals, stories, or comic strips
  • Letters or real-life writing (lists, plans)

Thank You!

Thank you for your support this year. Wishing your family a fun, relaxing, and book-filled summer!

Happy reading all summer long,

Mrs. Hale

Math Minute with Mr. Masiello Math Minute with Mr. Masiello

I can't believe that May is upon us and we are embarking on our last "quest" of this school year. During the month of May, our students have been putting in great effort to get ready for their end of year assessments! Over the past few weeks, they’ve been building their problem-solving strategies, reviewing key concepts, and practicing their math facts daily. Teachers are working hard to ensure students feel confident and prepared, and we’re seeing great progress across the board. Continued practice at home—especially with math facts, and completing math homework assignments can make a big difference.

Safety Tips from Deputy Barraco Safety Tips from Deputy Barraco

To help keep all of our Sharks safe, please remember these important reminders:

  • 📵 No phones in the school zone – stay alert at all times.

  • 🚗 Exit campus safely – turn right toward the church parking lot when leaving car line.

  • ⏱️ Obey the speed limit – 20 mph or less in the school zone at all times.

  • 🅿️ Put your car in park during car line to keep children safe.

  • 🚫 Drop-off only in the car line – students should not be dropped off in the parking lot.

  • ⏰ Tardy students – if your child is tardy, a parent must walk them to the school entry.

Thank you for doing your part to ensure arrival and dismissal are safe and smooth for all! 💙🦈

PTO NEWS PTO NEWS

Hello Naples Park Families,

Our Staff Appreciation Week is coming up during the first week of May! It will take place Monday, May 4th through Friday, May 8th, and our theme is a nautical/cruise ship adventure: “Quest Around the World.” Each day we’ll “visit” a different country—or enjoy a relaxing day at sea! Attached is our itinerary for the week.

We ask for your help in making this a wonderful week for our staff.

1. Please ask your kids to write a kind note for a staff member or surprise them with an item on their "favorites" list.

2. Please consider participating in the Teacher Appreciation Photo contest which is hosted by one of our sponsors, Compass Hotel by Margaritaville. Students, parents, and staff can submit a photo of their favorite teacher for a chance to win a getaway at Compass Hotel by Margaritaville Naples. Entries are open through May 15, with winners announced after May 22. Here is the link to share: https://stories.margaritaville.com/compass-by-margaritaville-naples/invite?contest=Teachers-Deserve-a-Little-Paradise-at-Compass-2026-03-12&lang=en

3. Lastly, if you would like to help assist in setting-up our week of "travel," please see our Sign Up Genius link: NPE PTO: Staff Appreciation Week
