A Message from Principal Laughlin
Dear Parents and Guardians,
As Spring approaches and the nice weather finally returns, I would like to remind parents of the importance of student attendance. By enforcing students to attend school and being on time is building the foundation for their overall success now and for the future. It fosters students to be responsible, avoid gaps in learning, and promotes better social and emotional development. Punctuality is a “non-cognitive” life skill which is a lesson for students to take forward for all aspects of their life. Students that are continually tardy cause classroom disruption, have to play catch up with missed information, and slows down the pace for the entire class. Kindly make every effort to have students here and on time.
Please remember that our school website, Wall Intermediate School, is a great source of information for parents. Information regarding clubs and activities, lunch menu, extra help days, athletic schedules, etc. can be found.
For any parent that missed the 5th to 6th grade transition meeting, the presentation can be found, under the Academics tab. However, I have attached it here for easy reference.

Sincerely,
Mr. Laughlin

❗Important Information
The term “Luggage for Love” refers to charity drives that collect and donate luggage, duffel bags, or suitcases filled with essential items to children in foster care or in crisis. This idea comes from the reality that many children entering foster care must transport all their belongings in plastic garbage bags, which can be demeaning and destabilizing. Providing real luggage instead helps give dignity, comfort, and a sense that they matter. Our goal is for the students at WIS to collect items that can go into these bags and use 2/18 and 2/26 to pack the bags in their Wellness Wednesday homeroom. Finally, we are looking to have selected students (knighted or students of the MPs) to take these items to the outreach building in Bradley Beach to meet with St. James Episcopal Church and CASA representatives who have started the Luggage for Love initiative and will receive our donation for foster children served by CASA of Monmouth and Ocean County at the end of February.
