Around Campus

This week's Spirit Week was a big hit, culminating in a fantastic turnout on Friday with Halloween costumes. Many students participated in the annual costume contest. Thank you, ASB, for hosting a great celebratory week! Huge Shout Out to our world language, art, and digital design students along with Club Literario, for putting together a lovely display in the cafeteria to educate about and celebrate Dia de los Muertos. On Thursday, the Los Nietos afterschool Spanish students walked over to visit the PHS display in the cafeteria, enjoyed some Pan de Muerto, face painting, and watched the Aztec Dancers and Florkoriko dance too during lunch.

On Friday, Superintendent Dr. Oviedo and Trustee Rodriguez-Moisa visited the campus, walking through classrooms and speaking with students and staff.

Please join us tomorrow at the Annual Band Jamboree at 7:00 p.m. at Cal Hi Stadium to watch our Marching Titans & Colorguard, Pepsters, and Dance/Drill Teams all perform.

💚 PTSA Update: Student Leadership in Action! 💚

We’re excited to share that this year, Pioneer High School’s PTSA proudly includes our first-ever student executive board! These incredible student leaders have been working hard to bring fresh ideas and school spirit to our Titan community.

Earlier this month, student Platinum Members participated in an opportunity raffle to win a 2025–26 yearbook, which was featured in the Titan Torch the past two weeks.
🎉 Congratulations to Epi Flores, our lucky winner!

Last week, our student PTSA board prepared and delivered Halloween-themed treats to staff and PTSA members during lunch and after school to show appreciation and build community spirit.

💚 Looking ahead, our goal is to extend this appreciation by providing a special treat for all staff members next month as we continue fostering positivity, gratitude, and Titan Pride across campus.

Thank you to all our families who have joined or renewed their PTSA membership—your support makes all of this possible!

Classroom Spotlight: Vocabulary and Real-World Relevance

Shout Out:

This week in Co-Taught English 2-P with Mrs. Chavez, Mr. Contreras and Mrs. Estrada, students took focused notes on what it takes to be a critical thinker. Later, students collaborated as medical professionals. Each team received a case file describing a patient with neurological symptoms, and their task was to determine what area of the brain was affected and provide a professional medical analysis. Real-world relevance: Students engaged in academic vocabulary as it is applied in professional contexts.
