As we approach the end of the school year, I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to our entire LES community for your continued support and partnership. Thank you to the LES PTO for the beautiful Principal's Day orchid and gift. 💚

Parent Reminder😁

Please remember that school begins at 8:45. It is important for students to be in the school before this time to ensure they aren't marked tardy, miss lunch count or morning meeting.

Information from the Nurse's Office

Nurse Lalli will be taking a leave of absence. Her last day will be May 10. This leave will extend to the end of the school year.

We are glad to share that Ms. Diana Bridgeforth will be joining us. She is an experienced registered nurse who has been "shadowing" Nurse Lalli for a few weeks. She is excited to be here and can be reached via email at dbridgeforth@ltps.org.

100 Year Celebration

Our time capsule reveal will be May 30. We will invite LES alumni to join us for this exciting event. Our students are learning the school songs from 1924 and 1974 to sing that day along with our current school song. A new plaque will be revealed and our students will create new projects to add to the time capsule to be opened in the year 2074!

Family Engagement

✅Whether ending the school year or starting the school year, it can be difficult for children to stick to routines at home to better prepare them for the day ahead. However, a posted routine checklist can help your family function a little better at night, in the morning, or when a chore needs to be completed. Here are some printable checklists that may help to foster some executive functioning skills in our young learners.

LES Celebrates Inclusion in April! LES Celebrates Inclusion in April!

In recent years LES has expanded its celebration of Autism Acceptance month to celebrate our increasingly diverse student population and their needs. This year we continued to alk about how important it is to make everyone feel connected and included, no matter their differing ability.

This year our theme was “You are Enough,” celebrating the fact that each of us is unique and special, with differing abilities and talents to share. Each class learned about a differing ability and then decorated their Buddy Class' door to teach them about it! The CARE Kids also visited classrooms to share the book You Are Enough and to encourage students to complete our coloring sheet fundrasier. Thanks to our generous students and their families, as well as our staff, we donated $130 to Special Olympics NJ!

We will continue to focus on the importance of including and supporting one another in order to make LES a safe and comfortable place to learn and grow 💚

An Amazing Celebration of Culture!

We would like to thank all families who participated in our Multicultural Night Celebration. Through the sponsorship of our PTO and the contributions from our families, staff, and community, we all enjoyed a night of friendship, culture, music, tradition, and food! A huge shout out to our Equity Coaches, Katie Miller and Taylor Hickey, for their help in planning and preparation behind the scenes. Please enjoy some of the pictures below.
