OMS Fundraiser
Dear Otsego Middle School Families,
Thank you for making our fundraiser a success so far. Your participation will directly help raise funds for Assemblies, Classroom Libraries, & Student Activities.
If you would like to donate, there is still time. Just click on this link: https://app.pop4kids.org/reg/code/AYH3M
Please log back into your personal donation page to ensure your student has reached their goal. Tokens are awarded throughout the fundraiser, so make sure your student uses their tokens on the Spin-to-Win game before the fundraiser ends. Every dollar raised makes a difference in the lives of our students! Please turn in cash and check donations in an envelope labeled with your students name to the main office by Monday, Oct. 26. Please make checks payable to Otsego Public Schools.
Thank you to all our families for making this program a huge success! Our staff and students appreciate you!
OMS Boys Basketball Tryouts
We are excited to announce that Otsego Middle School Boys Basketball Tryouts will take place October 26–28 in the middle school gymnasium. Tryout times will be 6th Grade: 3:00–4:30 p.m., 7th Grade: 4:00–5:30 p.m., and 8th Grade: 5:00–6:30 p.m. Students interested in trying out must complete the required registration and paperwork through Final Forms, including a current sports physical, parent and athlete forms, and payment of the athletics fee. Students should come prepared with shorts, a T-shirt, tennis shoes, and a water bottle. Practice will begin Thursday, October 29, with practices Monday–Friday and games typically scheduled on Mondays and Wednesdays. We look forward to seeing our Bulldog athletes come out, compete, work hard, and represent Otsego Middle School!
Staff Member of the Week
OMS student's were emailed a "staff member of the week" nomination form at the beginning of the year. We will be honoring nominated staff members for the remainder of the year. The week's staff member of the week is Mr. Knash. Below are just a few of the reasons given by students for this nomination. Congratulation to our PE Teacher Mr. Knash!
Mr. Knash was nominated as Staff Member of the Week because of the fun, energy, and enthusiasm he brings to physical education at Otsego Middle School. Students appreciate how he makes P.E. enjoyable and gets them excited about being active. One student shared, “I love P.E. and exercising,” which speaks to the positive environment Mr. Knash creates for students. Students also recognize the work that goes into planning activities that are both entertaining and safe. As one student pointed out, Mr. Knash has to manage a group of energetic middle schoolers while coming up with games that keep everyone engaged and help prevent injuries. That takes patience, creativity, and a little toughness! Other students simply described him as “super fun” and “tuff,” showing that they appreciate his personality and approach to teaching. Thank you, Mr. Knash, for keeping our Bulldogs moving, making physical education fun, and helping students build a positive attitude toward exercise and staying active. We are thankful to have you as part of the OMS family!
After School Support
OMS is offering after school academic support this year Mon.-Thurs. (2:45 PM-3:45 PM) in the media center. This is a drop-in time for students to get extra help on assignments. Each week we will share the subject areas of expertise that will be present each day. We encourage students to take advantage of this time to get extra help if needed. Even if a student needs help in a subject that is not listed they are still welcome to come and get assistance.
Monday: Social Studies, Science
Tuesday: Math
