Stars Endure
It is always a bittersweet moment when a senior plays their last game at home; on Thursday, the senior class played their last home game against the Indianola Indians. Riddled with injuries, the stars took a tough loss to the Indians. However, the senior leadership far surpasses just one football score. Seniors Nolan White, Damarion Foster, Tayden Kinnaman, Kayden Edwardson, Austin Nelson, Jose Rios, Aiden and Jack Mogensen all were seniors who made a significant impact for the varsity team this year. Thank you for your leadership guys!
The stars head down to Ankeny Centennial Friday.
Junior Varsity
Stars Break Through
The junior varsity football team has struggled this year. With a short list of players to chose from, a competitive schedule, and some injuries here and there, it has been tough to get rolling. However, the stars were able to put it all together Monday. The stars played Boyden-Hull Rock-Valley at home, and the stars showed out for their last game of the season. Quarterback Connor Fox led the stars to victory. He was aided by teammates Gabe Lynman Ochoa and Finn Kuehl. This pack of sophomores stepped up and got the stars their victory at home.
Great season boys!
Freshmen
Stars Fall Short
The freshmen hosted Indianola on Friday and had a hard fought battle in the process. The stars fell short to the Indians 29-18, but the stars brought it down to the wire. The main freshman core were consistent again as quarterback Colton McClellan was strong in the pass game; McClellan threw three touchdowns. McClellan was able to make connections with Colton Hamby, Ian Nelson, and Peyton Carson. The freshman look to regroup as they play their last game next week as they travel to Ankeny Centennial.
