A Note From Leadership
Welcome from Principal Berling
Dear OSH families and students-
I hope this message finds you well and that you were able to enjoy a relaxing, well-deserved summer break.
As we begin a new school year, our staff have had the opportunity to reset, refocus, and reimagine what’s possible for each and every scholar at Osseo Senior High School. We are looking forward to what this school year will bring and, most importantly, the incredible work we will do together.
I can confidently say, we are READY.
We are READY for our students.
We are READY for one another.
We are READY to learn and grow.
And we are READY for EXCELLENCE!
Our administrative team is energized and excited for the year ahead. We are incredibly grateful for the passion, talent, and energy our students bring to OSH each day—and we've been looking forward to welcoming everyone back!

Learning Conferences 2026-2027
Join us on Wednesday!
Osseo Senior High will host our annual Learning Conferences on Wednesday, September 16th. It will be an in-person experience at Osseo Senior High. We encourage all families to attend and meet the educators supporting their children. Families will have the opportunity to meet teachers, ask questions, learn about course standards, class expectations, assessments and experience the innovative classroom environments our scholars utilize daily. Our goal is to make the evening flexible and welcoming while giving families opportunities to connect with teachers and access the information they need. Various presentations will be offered throughout the evening - Meet Your Admin, Anti-Vaping 101 and a Counseling session.
3:00–4:00 p.m.
Welcome/open house opportunity.
Families can take a self-guided tour of the building, visit classrooms, and stop by the information stations in the Media Center.
4:00–7:30 p.m.
Visit classrooms at your convenience.
There will not be a scheduled rotation or a set amount of time for each classroom visit. The information stations in the Media Center will also remain open throughout the evening.
Counselors and CRC staff and multilingual assistants will be available to support families. Scholars are not expected to attend but are certainly welcome!
Osseo Activities Fair
Want to participate in activities, athletics, or clubs?
Come learn about opportunities to get involved at our OSH Activities Fair on Friday, September 18th during your lunch period. The fair will be set up in the main gymnasium where scholar leaders from innovative activities, athletics, and clubs will represent their sport, activity, or club. Leaders will provide information, handouts, and any questions that arise.
Research shows that participating in high school extracurricular activities strongly connects to higher academic success (higher grades, skill application, long-term goals), better mental health (less anxiety/depression, higher self-esteem, less screen time), and stronger social connections (peer connection, sense of belonging, significance).
MORAL OF THE STORY: Get involved! Wear the "O"! Be courageous and let Your Excellence Shine!
Parking Permits for Sale
Did you get your parking permit yet?
As a reminder from our Student Handbook: Students who choose to purchase a parking permit and drive to school understand that this parking on campus is a privilege and not a right. Therefore, student drivers are expected to maintain regular class attendance, especially at the beginning of the school day.
Looking for academic support? Wednesday Tutoring is for you!
Join us in the Media Commons after school on Wednesdays!
Wednesday Tutoring is back for the 26-27 school year! Join instructors and support staff from each department at 2:15 on Wednesdays in our new Media Commons and wrap up in time to grab the late bus home at 4:45!
This practice has been crucial for many students seeking additional help on schoolwork, so please encourage your scholar to take advantage of Wednesday Tutoring along with Focus Hours scheduled during our Advisory block. If we focus on our academics early, our success will follow with ease!

First Week Highlights
Welcome to Osseo Senior High 2026-2027
We kicked off our school year with both scholars and staff focused on navigating our beautifully renovated & finalized spaces and our Link Crew scholars did an amazing job assisting new community members adjust into building operations.
Starting each day in Advisory, we distributed remaining Chromebooks, reestablished community norms including the cell phone policy we introduced last school year** (see below!), and grounded ourselves in educational goals and expectations of Osseo Excellence. We'll continue our foundational work this week with all-class scholar meetings with Administration.
As always, our success is rooted in partnership with you, our community and families. Please check in if there is anything we can do to better support you and your scholars!

Electronic Device Reminder - Off & Away!
Cell Phone & Personal Electronic Device Policy
Still in effect for the 2026-27 School Year: Class time = Device-free time.
To support a focused learning environment, all cell phones and personal electronic devices must be turned OFF and put AWAY during instructional time.
Devices should not be visible.
Listening to music, texting, calling, social media, gaming, or other non-academic use is not permitted during class.
Students who fail to follow this expectation will be asked to surrender their device and then conference with school administration.
Why this matters:
We value your learning time. Every minute matters and removing distractions helps create a classroom where everyone can focus, engage, and succeed.
Cell Phones OFF. Devices AWAY. Focus ON.
*Our policy reflects district standards and compliance with Osseo Area Schools district policy 505.

Osseo Area Schools Family & Community Engagement
The goal of the Osseo Area Schools Family and Community Engagement (FACE) department is to strengthen and sustain authentic relationships within the district community. Through meaningful partnerships, FACE seeks to enable scholars to achieve their brilliance while also engaging with and holding space for the various perspectives of district families and community members.
Department Vision
- Ensure that every scholar and family in our community feels seen, heard and welcomed.
- Deepen our connections and strengthen our partnerships within the Osseo Area Schools community.
- Value and consider the voices of every scholar as we implement new strategies.
- Empower parents and caregivers as advocates for their scholars.
Why it Matters
When schools prioritize engaging every family and community as valued partners, students show improved outcomes in key areas that indicate likely academic success such as school readiness, higher grades, higher test scores, better attendance, fewer tardies, lower suspension and expulsion rates, and increased likelihood of high school graduation.
