Hi Washington Families:

Please know that we do not have school on Monday in honor of Indigenous People's Day. On Tuesday, our reading intervention groups start. This is a chance for students to work in small groups, sometimes with their classroom teacher, but also with our team of reading tutors who provide extra support at the students' current skill level.

Our school nurse has asked if you can add Washington Elementary to your contacts list on your phone. This way if we call, you know it's us, and you won't accidentally block our calls! Our number is (978)937-7635.

Lastly, please avoid picking up your children early from school unless it is for an appointment or emergency. Students are learning subjects throughout the day, but also it is hard for our one school clerk to dismiss individual children while she is preparing us for our end-of-day procedures and full-school dismissal. Please also do not drop your children off un-attended at school before 8:30. We do not have staff available to supervise students until 8:30 AM.

All visitors must report to the office.

If you need to enter the school for any reason, please report to the office. Please do not go to a classroom or learning space without a staff member. Please understand that this policy is to make sure that students can focus on learning and anyone in the building is supposed to be here.

If you have an item (for example a lunch box a child forgot) that needs to get to the classroom, just come to the office and speak with our school clerk. Please do not enter the building to follow your child. We appreciate your understanding and support with this.

If you miss your child's bus drop-off:

If a bus gets to a stop and there is no parent there for a student, the student is taken to Moody Elementary School, 158 Rogers St, Lowell, MA 01852. The main number at the Moody is(978)937-7673. Staff there contact parents by phone and the student needs to be picked up at the Moody if this occurs. https://share.google/ErMevlBQJhi7KFfgJ
