Inside the Bear Cave
April 2026

April Message
Dear Sierra Bonita Families,
As we roll into April and start feeling some spring weather, I can’t help but think of bears coming out of hibernation—ready to get moving again. That’s kind of the vibe around our school right now. After months of putting in the work, students are finding their rhythm and showing what they can do. There’s a great energy in the building—kids are more confident, more engaged, and you can really see the growth starting to come through.
This is also the time of year when everything comes together. Between testing, field trips, track meets, and other end-of-year activities, students get a chance to show what they’ve learned in different ways. It’s a busy stretch, but it’s a fun one. I’m really proud of the effort our students and staff have put in to get to this point. Thanks for your support as we head into the home stretch.
Student Led Conferences
Our Student LED conferences will be held Thursday, April 2nd
We are excited for students to showcase their growth from the beginning of the year until now!
These will be student led conferences so there will be no sign-ups for this conference.
We recommend that those whose last name starts with A-L to come any time from 3:30-5:30pm and M-Z to come any time between 6-8:30pm.
We understand that this time does not work for everyone so if you need to come to the other session that is fine. We are just trying to prevent too much congestion. Teachers will be eating dinner from 5:30-6pm.
Our book fair will also be open during our student led conferences from 3:15-8:15pm.
End of Year Testing
As we head into testing season starting on April 15th, we want to help set our students up for success. Getting a good night’s sleep, eating a healthy breakfast, and starting the day on a positive note can make a big difference. We simply encourage students to come in, do their best, and show what they’ve learned.
Your support at home goes a long way. When students come to school rested, prepared, and confident, it gives them the best chance to show their growth. Please try to schedule any dentist, medical, or other appointments around testing schedules. Teachers will communicate days of testing with you. We’re excited to celebrate the progress they’ve made this year—both individually and as a school. Thank you for your continued support!
