Congratulations
TOMS Rookie Teacher of the Year - Megan Bright
Congratulations to Miss Megan Bright, Ten Oaks Middle School Rookie of the Year!
Miss Bright joined Ten Oaks Middle School last year as a 6th-grade Social Studies teacher and has already made an incredible impact. She brings professionalism, positivity, and a genuine passion for student learning to her classroom every day. Her engaging lessons, strong relationships with students, and high expectations create a welcoming and rigorous learning environment.
Miss Bright is collaborative, reflective, and committed to growth—qualities that truly set her apart. This spring, she is continuing her professional journey by pursuing a master’s degree in Instructional Technology at Coastal Carolina University.
She is respected by colleagues, loved by students, and appreciated by families. We are proud to have her in our Silver Fox Community and grateful for the difference she makes each day.
Congratulations again, Miss Bright! You are the right person, in the right place, doing the right work for the right reasons!
The Polar Plunge may have been postponed last weekend, but the TOMS Team still showed up in full force! We’ve raised over $4,000 and counting for Special Olympics—thank you to everyone who supported this incredible cause.
Congratulations to our contest winners!
• Keith Doncheski won the Polar Plunge Gummy Bears and wireless earbuds by guessing 850 gummies—the jar contained 867! Great job, Keith!
• Mrs. Charlcey Carswell won the M&M contest!
We are so proud of everyone who supported our Polar Plunge Team. Your enthusiasm and generosity truly made a difference!
We are thrilled to announce that the TOMS Orchestra Program had two of our students selected for the 2026 SCMEA All State 6-8 Orchestra!
The dedication and hard work it takes to achieve this is inspiring and we know they are going to represent Ten Oaks Middle School, Horry County Schools, and Region Five exceptionally well at the All State Orchestra event in February at Furman University! Bravo to them!
They definitely have the…WANT TO!

BUS
Dear TOMS Parents/Guardians,
In an effort to minimize classroom disruptions and maintain a focused learning environment, we are implementing a few new procedures effective immediately:
Lunch Drop-Offs
If a student’s lunch is dropped off at the front office, it will be placed on a designated cart near the security desk.
Students will not be called out of class to pick up their lunch.
Please remind your child to check the cart if they realize they do not have their lunch.
Other Item Drop-Offs
If other items (e.g., forgotten computers, books, clothing, etc.) are delivered for a student, an email will be sent to the teacher of the class the student is currently attending.
Teachers will check their email regularly throughout the day so students can receive their items in a timely manner.
Changes in Dismissal
Any changes to your child’s transportation home should be communicated prior to your student arriving at school.
Dismissal changes cannot be made over the phone after 2:00 PM to allow sufficient time to notify both the teacher and student.
Thank you for your continued support and cooperation.
