GATE TESTING
The Escondido Union School District is pleased to continue to offer the Gifted and Talented Education program. For GATE identification, all 2nd-grade students will have the opportunity to participate in universal screening in November. In addition, parents and teachers may recommend students not previously screened in grades 3 through 8 to be screened for GATE eligibility. Parents can pick up the Parent Background and Input Form in the schoolβs front office and should return it to the school by Friday, October 24. A school team will review requests and determine which students will be eligible to be screened in November. For more information, please visit our district website or stop by your school office.
WHEEL ENRICHMENT π
Every other week, Bobcats have Wheel Enrichment classes. They get to go to Art to study texture, STEAM to code robots, and Music to use app Garage Band to record music. Check out some pictures from last week's Wheel time.
ROAR ASSEMBLY + STUDENT COUNCIL ELECTIONS
Bobcats are...PUBLIC SPEAKERS!
Student Council elections are underway, with students seeking Board positions giving speeches in front of the school and advertising with posters. Best of luck to all candidates! We are proud of all who ran! It is a very brave thing to do to stand in front of students and families alike to pitch yourself!

ATTENDANCE MATTERS β
FROM MS. SHAFFER
Our goal for our school is to have an average of 94% Average Daily Attendance. Our SEAT team is going to be looking at our data and seeing why we had the increase but please remember EVERY DAY COUNTS! When your child misses school, they miss out!
Regular student attendance plays a critical role in our collective mission to ensure every student achieves their fullest potential.
Why Attendance Should Be a Top Priority:
Academic Achievement: Regular attendance is fundamental to student success. Each school day is a building block in the learning process. Consistent attendance helps students keep up with coursework, understand key concepts, and perform better academically.
Social and Emotional Development: School is a place where students develop crucial social skills and emotional resilience. Frequent absences can hinder their ability to form strong relationships with peers and teachers, impacting their overall development.
Future Opportunities: Consistent attendance is linked to higher graduation rates and better long-term outcomes, including higher education and career prospects. By prioritizing attendance, we are directly contributing to students' future success.
School Culture: Regular attendance fosters a positive school culture and enhances the learning environment for everyone. It creates a sense of community and ensures that all students have equal access to the resources and support they need.
