The first day of school is just two days away, and we want every student and family to be ready for a strong start! TONIGHT - Elementary Meet the Teacher

Elementary Meet the Teacher is TONIGHT - Tuesday, August 12, from 6-7 p.m. Families are encouraged to bring school supplies and meet their child’s teacher. This is a great opportunity to see the classroom, drop off materials, and help your child feel ready for the first day.

Meet the Hawks Night

Meet the Hawks is set for Wednesday, August 20, at 6 p.m. in the Red Oak High School gym. Come out and support our Mighty Hawks as we introduce fall sports teams, the marching band, cheerleaders, and drill team. Enjoy performances, meet the athletes' teams, and get excited for a fantastic season ahead!

New Safety & Cell Phone Policies for 2025–2026

Starting this school year, all ROISD campuses and events will implement weapons detection systems to enhance safety. Students will enter through designated checkpoints with scanning pillars and may be wanded if needed.

In addition, cell phones and personal devices (including smartwatches, headphones, and AirPods/earpods) must be stored in backpacks (elementary students) or district-issued Yondr pouches (secondary students) at all times during the school day. This follows House Bill 1481, which prohibits student device use during school hours. Violations may result in confiscation or disciplinary action.

Parents are encouraged to talk with their students about the new expectations. For communication during the school day, please contact the campus front office.

The goal is to keep students focused, reduce distractions, and protect instructional time. More details and consequences will be shared in the updated Student Code of Conduct and on the district website.

ROISD Food Pantry, ROISD ESC, Th., Aug. 14 @ 4 p.m.

Stop by the Education Service Center (ESC) starting at 4 p.m. for a box of goodies. ROISD partners with the North Texas Food Bank to provide a School Pantry each month. Families are provided with a box of shelf goods for each child in the family and usually seasonal fresh produce.

School Board Meeting – Mon., August 25 @ 7 p.m.

The next ROISD School Board Meeting will be held on Monday, August 25, 2025, at 7 p.m. in the ROISD Education Service Center. Meeting minutes and agenda will be shared at https://meetings.boardbook.org/Public/Organization/2272.

Middle School Meet the Teacher Dates

Meet the Teacher Night for Joy Shaw Middle School will be held on Tuesday, August 26 at 6:00 p.m. at Red Oak Middle School. Red Oak Middle School’s Meet the Teacher Night will follow on Thursday, August 28 at 6:00 p.m., also at Red Oak Middle School. Join us to meet your teachers and get ready for a great school year!
