Dear CES families and friends,
Thank you to all who joined us on Wednesday for the CES Fun Run! The energy was incredible and our SHARKS were super speedy on the race course. Thank you to the CES PTO for organizing and securing sponsors, and thank you to the Chatham Fire Department for manning the grill for our picnic. The entire day was an amazing example of how our community comes together. It was a great day to be a SHARK!
Our next school wide event is on Tuesday, June 3rd. CES Field Day is an all-day event filled with water stations, carnival stations, and field games. More information about Field Day can be found below. Please note, there will be NO AFTER SCHOOL CLUBS on Tuesday, June 3rd. Our SHARKS are always exhausted (and usually soaking wet) by the end of the day. Session IV clubs end for the year on Friday, June 6th.
In other news, Kindergarten screenings for the MRSD Class of 2038 begin on Tuesday. Families of registered students have been contacted to set up a screening appointment. If you have a child who will be 5 years old by September 1st and have not registered, please do so by visiting the Monomoy Regional School District's website. On Wednesday, June 11th, CES will be hosting a Parent/Caregiver Information Night for families with children entering the new Pups Prekindergarten program and the Kindergarten program. We look forward to welcoming our newest SHARK families!

Volunteers Needed
Chatham Elementary School's annual Field Day will be on Tuesday, June 3rd. This all-day event is for all CES students. Families and caregivers are welcome to join us for the festivities. Volunteers are needed to help set up and take down the event and classroom volunteers are needed to travel with classes from activity to activity. If you can volunteer your time, please sign up on the volunteer sheet located here. A reminder that all volunteers must have a current CORI form on file with MRSD.
Field Day officially begins at 8:15 and is divided into three main stations: water games (CES parking lot), carnival games (Little League field behind Monomoy Youth Services), and field games (Chatham A's field). Classes spend one hour at each station and have the opportunity to play all of the games at each station. The day ends with our annual tug-of-war competition on the A's field, followed by a soaking from our friends at the Chatham Fire Department.
Students will receive their field day t-shirts in homeroom the morning of the event. We highly recommend that students bring a towel and are prepared for a full day in the sun with hats and/or sunscreen, and a water bottle. Many students choose to wear a bathing suit under their shorts and t-shirts.
CES Float for the Chatham 4th of July Parade
