2025-2026 Welcome Letter from Principal Baldwin
Dear Mav Nation,
A we gear up for a new school year, I want to welcome everyone to the 2025-2026 school year at Manvel High School. My name is Jamie Baldwin and I'm excited for year 2 as the principal at MHS. This will be my 17th year in education with 11 and half of my years at MHS. I previously served as the principal at Rodeo Palms JH for 2 school years and have enjoyed moving up with my Razorbacks.
I love serving the Manvel community and look forward to partnering with you for the success of our students. Our number one goal at MHS is to ensure the safety of all our students and staff members. All decisions are made with safety in mind. Our second goal at MHS is to provide an academically rich environment to prepare your students for post secondary opportunities by offering a wide range of courses and extracurricular opportunities. Below are a few need to knows for families as we start a new school year.
Dress Code Reminders
All students are expected to follow the Alvin ISD Dress code. The full dress code can be found by clicking here to help you with back to school shopping. The most common dress code infractions seen are midriff/tank tops, tights, short shorts and slides. Please make sure that all shirts cover your students mid section. Tights are not an appropriate bottom for school. The biggest misconception is tights can be worn with a t-shirt. Tights can only be worn with a garment (i.e. dress, skirt)that is no shorter than 3 inches above the knee. Joggers are a great alternative to tights and leggings. Shorts also need to be an appropriate length for all students. They should be no shorter than 3 inches above the knee. All footwear must be worn with a heel or back strap, this includes crocks. I have personally seen students in slides and sandals fall or trip due to someone accidently stepping on the back of a slide or a sandal sliding off a foot during transition.
Student IDs
All secondary students will receive a smart ID. This is the same type of ID that all Alvin ISD elementary students had last school year. The smart ID has technology for bus riding tracking, can be used to checkout books from the library and can be used to purchase food from the cafeteria.
More information will be sent out once an ID delivery date has been confirmed.
Student Support Team
All students have an alpha assistant principal, an alpha counselor and an attendance clerk based on the students last name. This team is your go to for questions about attendance, student management, academics and your student's well being. Questions about grades and classroom instruction should be directed to the classroom teacher first as they are the content expert. If you still require further assistance, your alpha assistant principal or alpha counselor is the next level of support. The contact information for all principals and counselors can be found below.
Electronic Device Policy
House Bill 1481, was recently passed by the Texas Legislature. This law requires all school boards to adopt a policy that limits student use of personal communication devices such as cell phones and smartwatches while on school property during the school day. The purpose of this legislation is to help minimize distractions and enhance student learning. It also mandates that school districts implement disciplinary measures for students who violate the policy. Currently, all campuses in Alvin ISD follow existing cell phone protocols; however, the district will develop a more comprehensive policy that meets the requirements set forth in HB 1481. Details about how this law will be applied in our schools will be shared with you prior to the start of the new school year.
We are excited to welcome all staff members back on July 31, 2025. Please be patient with the student support team as everyone is working hard to prepare for back to school and ensure everything is ready for our freshman on August 11th and our 10th -12th grade students on August 12th.
Thank you for your partnership and I am looking forward to another great year at MHS!
Hoka Hey,
Jamie Baldwin

To complete the required paperwork for Alvin ISD through Rank One, you will need to go to the Rank One website.
Here are the general steps:
Go to the Rank One website: You can usually access the parent portal directly from https://www.rankone.com/Parent/Parent or by navigating from the main Rank One site: https://www.rankone.com/Home/MemberLogin.
Select your state and district: Once on the Rank One site, you'll need to select "Texas" as your state and then "Alvin ISD" as your district.
Log in or create an account: If you already have a Rank One parent account, log in. If not, you'll need to create one.
Complete the online forms: After logging in, you should be able to access and complete the required athletic/fine arts paperwork online.
Upload the physical form: Remember that a UIL physical form dated on or after April 1st, 2025 (for the 2025-2026 school year) is required and must be uploaded through Rank One. Do not turn physical forms into coaches or front office staff.
Important Notes:
You will likely need your child's student ID number to complete the process.
If you have questions or need assistance, you may contact the Alvin ISD Athletic Training Office.
Alvin ISD also uses Skyward for general student registration and enrollment. Make sure you complete the Rank One paperwork specifically for athletics/fine arts.

Booking is Now Open for 2026 Senior Photos!
Parents please check your email from CADY. Our picture company has been sending emails to all Class of 2026 families with emails registered in Skyward.
Unlike underclassmen pictures, every senior has the opportunity to take a selection of senior photos. CADY offers a variety of sessions but all seniors must sign-up for a session to ensure your picture is included in the Yearbook and in the slideshow that is shown before graduation.
If you do not want to complete a full photoshoot with CADY, at the bottom of "Choose Sessions", there is a yearbook only session for $10. The $10 sitting fee is a fundraiser for the senior class and is used to help lower the cost for the senior trip, prom, etc.
Don't want to go to the CADY Studio, No worries! There will be 4 Senior Roadshows were the studio will come to MHS. You still must BOOK the session online. This is a great option if you only want the Standard ($59), Simple ($29) or Yearbook Only ($10) session.
