Please have your child collect a hand full of dirt from different locations and make observations about the characteristics of each type. You might even have them add some water and see if it is absorbed or if it passes through. 🙂
4th grade Math--We are continuing to discuss fractions. We have learned what fractions are, how to recognize and create equivalent fractions, how to simplify fractions, how to compare fractions, and how to add and subtract fractions. We will continue working with fractions for a little while longer.

PLEASE have your child practice or their UIL competitions if they have made a team or teams. Any extra practice would be very beneficial. 🙂

5TH GRADE
Math
- We are working hard dividing with decimals. We are trying to get to them fractions.
- Please have your child practice multiplication math facts. We are still taking a quiz every week. The problems on our assignments are getting more challenging, and we want them to be able to work through them and not shut down.
- We are scheduled a very busy week this coming week. I ask for your support to have your child in bed early Tuesday and Wednesday night because they will be testing. We will be testing Wednesday and Thursday morning. This test our students will be taking will give us a better projection on how they will do on the STAAR test and what are the things we need to learn and review. So please do not forget these little guys need a good night’s rest and to be here early so they can have breakfast Wednesday and Thursday.
Thank you for your support,
Stacy Gamez

Please make sure your student is wearing their field trip shirt on Tuesday. The second field trip is to the Lubbock Symphony Orchestra and that is on Wednesday. Please have the students dressed nicely as we are attending this event at the new Buddy Holly Center in Lubbock and want to represent Meadow as the great district it is.
- Finally, we do have testing next week that will help us understand how your student is doing in our classes and how they are projected to do for the STAAR test. Please make sure your child is at school everyday next week.
