Good afternoon,

As a reminder, parents/guardians are required to provide written notification to the school for each day their child is not in attendance. Absences shall be treated as unlawful until the district receives a written excuse explaining the absence, to be submitted within three (3) days of the absence. The district will not change the attendance code for written notifications received after (3) three days.

Throughout the summer, Boyertown Area School District has worked to streamline the absence reporting process for all stakeholders. Parents and guardians can now complete an absence request through their Parent Portal in Infinite Campus. The Infinite Campus Absence Request feature has replaced the Google Attendance forms and can be used for absences, late arrivals, early departures, and to begin the educational trip request process. What your child really needs to hear when they are scared to say goodbye at school drop-off.

It’s tempting to rush past the tears.
To say, “You’re fine!” or “Don’t cry—today will be fun!”

But when a child is scared to say goodbye, what they really need isn’t a pep talk…

It’s reassurance that their feelings make sense—and that they’re not alone in them.

Try this instead:
✨ “It’s okay to cry. I know this part is hard.”
✨ “I’ll miss you too—because we love each other.”
✨ “And I’ll be back to pick you up. You’re safe here.”

These small words help your child feel secure while they’re still sad—
And that’s what builds emotional resilience over time. ❤️

Hello 4th and 5th grade families!

This past week Mr. Langdon, Mrs. Mumie, and members of the high school band presented an assembly that demonstrated the band instruments that students can play in 4th and 5th grade. All 4th graders should have received an informational flyer about the elementary band program with the instrument(s) that are best suited for them. 5th grade students that are interested in joining the band should have received a flyer as well.

We will be holding a “Join the Band” night on Monday, September 15 at 6:30 in the Middle School West Cafeteria. Please register your child prior to this meeting using the flyer or you can find a link to the flyer here: Join the Band Flyer

During this meeting parents will register for an evening lesson with their child on either September 24 or 25.
