Students!
We made it to the end of the school year! Congratulations, seniors, on your graduation and good luck on your next steps!
Students, summer is a great time to prepare for the next school year. That may include retaking the ACT, getting involved in your communities or participating in summer activities. This is a good time to update and add to your Activities Resume.
Seniors … borrow wisely for college!
Review these tips before you decide how much to borrow in student loans:
- Borrow only what you need, even if it’s less than the amount offered in your award letter.
- Use your student loan money only for tuition, room and board, books, and fees. Get a part- time job to pay other expenses.
- Apply for financial aid each year you attend college by completing the FAFSA.
- Continue to look for scholarships while in college.
Juniors… complete these tasks to stay on track to college
- Narrow your college choices to three or four. Visit your top choices either in person or virtually.
- Become familiar with the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid). You and your parents can complete this form on or after October 1 to apply for college financial aid.
- Update your Activities Resume
- Look for scholarships using ScholarshipQuest at EducationQuest.org.
- Consider retaking the ACT this summer
