Hello Families:

Last week, our wonderful community came together to celebrate the holiday season with a series of festive events.

Our dedicated transportation team, representing the Coupeville School District, truly outdid themselves by decorating the Coupeville bus for the annual Greening of Coupeville Parade. It was a sight to behold!

We were fortunate to capture some amazing photos of the parade and other events, including a great shot of Director Sherman with his daughters.

Thank you to everyone who attended and participated. Your presence made the event truly special.

The historic buildings of Coupeville were adorned with greens, white lights, and red bows. The traditional Christmas parade, featuring Santa Claus, wound its way down charming Front Street. The Coupeville Chamber of Commerce organized the parade and concluded the evening with a tree lighting ceremony.

I am incredibly proud to serve as Coupeville School District Superintendent.

Dear Coupeville School District Families,

We are excited to invite you to be a part of our district's budget planning process for the upcoming year.

Beginning in December, we will be forming a collaborative budget committee that brings together diverse perspectives to shape the financial future of our district.

Our approach is straightforward: we believe that the most effective budget decisions happen when all voices are heard. This isn't just about balancing numbers—it's about investing in our community's most precious resource: our students.

We are seeking passionate parents, community members, and stakeholders who are interested in:

• Understanding our district's financial landscape
• Contributing innovative ideas for resource management
• Working together to support our educational goals

The budget committee will be organized to ensure a balance in voices including:

1. Student Representatives
2. Community and Family Representatives
3. Staff
4. Administration and Directors

Your participation will be crucial in helping us:

• Generate creative solutions for financial sustainability
• Ensure minimal disruption to core educational services
• Make data-driven decisions that prioritize student success

We're looking for individuals who can commit to:

• Attending approximately 90% of meetings
• Communicating effectively to reach consensus on priorities
• Listening actively
• Representing our community's diverse interests

If you are interested in joining this important work, please fill out the survey below to provide more information. Please stay tuned. Our goal is to begin meetings in January. We will hold these meetings in the evening on Wednesdays and the time will be around 90 minutes beginning at 5PM.

Together, we can create a budget that reflects our community's values and supports our students' bright futures.
