Sideline Report
From Mr. Tresnak, Athletic Director
A Look at the Role of Our Athletic Boosters
At a recent Athletic Booster meeting, we spent some time talking about how the Boosters support Dryden athletics—and how much of that work often happens behind the scenes.
Our Athletic Boosters play an important role in helping fund items and improvements that go beyond the regular school athletic budget. Over time, their support has touched nearly every program in the district.
Some recent examples include:
Volleyball standards and assistance with uniform costs
Equipment and uniforms that helped restart the football program
Funding for the new football scoreboard (scheduled for Fall 2026)
QwikCut scouting software for basketball players and coaches
The track and cross country record board and updates
Baseball uniforms, windscreen, and a pitching machine
The Boosters also look ahead and plan for larger needs, including:
Field improvements at both the high school and elementary
Cost-sharing on future scoreboard replacements
Improvements to track facilities, including the long jump pit
Ongoing replacement of uniforms and equipment
Updates to aging weight room equipment
Every time families support concessions or Booster fundraisers, those funds go directly back into our athletic programs.
One challenge worth sharing is that Booster involvement is currently carried by a very small group—just five regular members—many of whom will see their children graduate in the coming years. Continued support depends on bringing new voices and ideas into the organization.
The next Athletic Booster meeting is Tuesday, January 20 at 7:00 PM. The agenda will include discussion of major fundraising efforts and coaches’ equipment wish lists, which help guide how resources are allocated.
If you’re interested in learning more about how athletic support decisions are made—or would like to be part of those conversations—Booster meetings are a great place to start.
Thank you, as always, for supporting Dryden athletics and our student-athletes.
