Principal's Corner

Dear Cielo Vista Families,

Welcome to a brand-new school year! I am thrilled to welcome you back—or welcome you for the first time—to Cielo Vista Elementary. It is an honor to serve as your principal, and I look forward to partnering with you to ensure your child has a safe, supportive, and enriching educational experience.

Let me take a moment to introduce myself. I bring 28 years of experience in education, having served as a kindergarten, first grade, and second grade teacher before moving into administration. My purpose has always been rooted in doing what is best for students. I am deeply committed to meeting both their academic and social-emotional needs, and I believe every child deserves a learning environment where they feel safe, welcomed, and empowered to succeed.

This year, we will continue building on the celebrations and growth of last year. Our work is grounded in purpose and strengthened by our partnerships with families. Together, we will create a school community where every student can thrive.

Please know that I am here to help and support in any way I can. I am excited for what lies ahead and look forward to an amazing school year—together as one team for our students.

Warmly,
Maria Guerra

Identification Requirement for Adults

Anyone entering the building must show an identification at the front door to gain admittance. Please ring the doorbell and hold your ID (e.g., driver's license, state ID, passport) in the front of the camera. The clerk will then verify your ID before unlocking the door for you. As you come in, please walk straight to the office to be signed in. We thank you for your cooperation on our safety procedures to help maintain our campus safe.

Attendance Procedures

Bobcat families, please make sure to bring your child to school everyday. Your child attendance matters. If you have any absences to report please use the QR code or email me at cielovista_notes@episd.org. Remember we will no longer be accepting phone calls to excuse any absences. A written form of communication is required. Thank you for your continued support.
