We proudly celebrated Sunnyvale ISD’s Teachers of the Year, SIS teacher Karla Watson and SMS teacher Melissa Walker, at the Region 10 Teacher of the Year event held at the Frontiers of Flight Museum on Thursday, July 31.
It was a fantastic way to honor their dedication to and care for their students as well as their passion for education. Thank you both for making such a positive impact on students and staff in SISD. Congratulations!

Important Chromebook Policy Update for 3rd–5th Grade Families
As we kick off the new school year, we want to remind all parents and guardians that every student in grades 3 – 12 has access to use a district Chromebook.
For grades 3 - 5, district Chromebooks are assigned and kept in a computer cart in their homeroom when not in use. For grades 6 - 12, district Chromebooks are issued and students take them home on a daily basis.
Please remember that families are responsible for any fees related to damage or loss of the Chromebook, as outlined in the district’s fee schedule. Thank you for helping us ensure that students take care of their technology and are prepared for success every day!
New This Year for Grades 3 - 5
Beginning this school year, students in grades 3 - 5 will follow the same Chromebook damage and loss fee schedule as our 6th - 12th grade students. This means that in the event of accidental or intentional damage - or if a Chromebook is lost - families may be responsible for fees to repair or replace the device.
To see the fee list and learn more about how our IT staff assesses damage, please see the attachments below.
We appreciate your support as we work together to teach our students the value of caring for shared technology. If you have any questions about this update, please reach out to campus administration.
Here’s to a wonderful school year ahead!
