Weekly Update

We are ready for State! All information regarding our state trip can be found in the links below. We look forward to seeing everyone at our send-off performance at HBJ on Sunday!

Reminders:

-Cars cannot be left at HBJ. Students and chaperones must be dropped off at the stadium.

-Students are allowed one carry-on and one larger bag for under the bus in addition to their garment bags and instruments/equipment.

-Student medications must be in their original containers and prescriptions must have the student's name on the bottle.

State shirts have been delivered and will be distributed to students in class. If you ordered a shirt, it will be given to your student today in their class.

If you were unable to order a shirt because we ran out of your size, we will be making a second order of shirts for those who would like to purchase one. Please note that these shirts WILL NOT be delivered until after the Band returns from the state contest.

GISD Middle School All-District Band Auditions - Saturday, November 7th

• What: LCHS will host the Garland ISD Middle School All-District Band Auditions on our campus.
• Who: Student Leadership Team, student volunteers, and parent volunteers.
• When: Saturday, November 7th 7:30am-5pm (Adult volunteers can help for any portion of the day. You do not have to be able to commit to the entire day.)

9th Grade Region Band Auditions - Saturday, November 14th

• What: 9th grade band students will travel to Rockwall High School to audition for the Region 3 9th Grade Band.
• Who: All 9th grade students in the Wind Ensemble, Wind Symphony, and Symphonic Band.
• When: All day on Saturday, November 14th. Specific times for individual students will be announced closer to the event.

High School Region Band Auditions - Saturday, December 5th

• What: Students will travel to Sachse High School to audition for the TMEA Region 3 High School Band.
• Who: All students in the Wind Ensemble and Wind Symphony are required to audition. Students in Symphonic and Concert Bands are encouraged to audition.
• When: All day on Saturday, December 5th. Specific times for individual students will be announced closer to the event.

Sunday, November 1st - State Send-off

• 9:00am - Student call-time at HBJ
• 11:30am - Gates open to the public
• 12:00pm - Celebration begins

Monday, November 2nd- Prelims Day

• 9:00am - Prelims performance

Tuesday, November 3rd - Finals Day - Return to LC

• Schedule will be determined by prelims results

Wednesday, November 4th - No rehearsal

• 1:15pm - Students released to change into uniform
• 1:45pm - Inspection
• 4:00pm - Game Begins
• 7:30pm - Approximate return to LC

Friday, November 6th - Leadership Team stay after school for MS All-District set-up

Saturday, November 7th - GISD All-District Middle School Band Auditions

Fees will be available for payment through Skyward in August. Fees can be paid online through Skyward or in the band office with cash or check made out to "LCHS Band."

The following are the fees that will be assessed:

• GISD Band Activity Fee: $200 **All Band and Color Guard
• Travel Fee: $100 **All Band and Color Guard
• Instrument Usage Fee $100 **Any student who uses a school-owned instrument
• Percussion Fee: $150 **Percussion students
• Accompanist Fee: $50.00 ** Winds Only

Fees may be paid all at once or on the following schedule:

1. August 15, 2026 $200.00 Activity Fee
2. September 15, 2026 $100.00 Transportation Fee
3. October 15, 2026 $100 Instrument Fee or $150 Percussion Fee (if applicable)
4. February 15, 2026 $50 Accompanist Fee (if applicable)

If you cannot make a payment by the due date, please contact the Director of Bands through email to make alternate arrangements. The Patriot Band will not exclude any student because of their family’s financial situation, but communication with the Director of Bands is essential.
