Grade 8 Hero Unit

Have you ever dreamed of being a superhero? Well, this year’s Grade 8 is having that wish fulfilled- sort of… In Grade 8 ELA we are creating our own superheroes and then learning about the hero’s journey through an interactive role-playing game known as MASKS. In the game students will interact with their teachers and specialists playing the roles of super villains and antiheroes as the student’s teams try to save the residents of Halcyon City. The administration is in the game as our superheroes backup and police force known as AEGIS. Through all this superhero action students will come to a deeper understanding of what a hero is and how magnificent the human brain can be in our Hero unit.

Please consider insurance for school issued laptops:

Accidents happen, and that’s why we’ve chosen School Device Coverage to offer an optional device insurance program for our district families. Here are some benefits to device insurance:

  • Coverage for accidental damage, loss, and theft.
  • No hidden fees; a one-time payment covers the device until the end of the school year.
  • There are no claims limits, so if your child experiences more than one accidental damage, loss, or theft event, the device is still insured.
  • If your child’s device needs repair or replacement, the insurance coverage will automatically follow to any loaner device at no extra charge

To enroll your device(s), please visit https://schooldevicecoverage.com/signup. Fill out the form on that page, and then click Next to complete your registration.
