Broadmoor's Weekly Wildcat News!
October 19, 2025
Dear BES Families,
This shorter week was BUSY!!! Thank you to the FFA students at LHS for a great AG DAY! It was a lot of fun and I'm so glad the rain held off. Friday night was great, I love seeing all the kids and our community together. Also, thank you to our amazing PTO for a fun night under the lights! Our students all received fun stickers on Friday to celebrate our Wildcat Pride! THANKS!
We have seen more students being dropped off on 5th street in the mornings. Please take the time to pull into BES and drop your student off. It really does not take very much time and the risk of there being a fender bender and someone getting hurt is just not worth it! There is so much traffic on 5th street and lots of ages of drivers. Please talk to your high school drivers, too. All it would take is one driver not paying attention for there to be an accident. I would also like to mention bike and scooter riding. We have asked students to walk their bikes or scooters along the sidewalks and up our front walk to the bike rack. We have had students fall off the curb into traffic and scare walkers and drivers along the sidewalks. This has really worked well and is keeping everyone safe!
Have a great week,
Cindy Apple, Principal

Support For Our Families
Hello USD 416 Families and Friends,
Believe it or not, cold weather and the holiday season are fast approaching. The added expense of this season can be a heavy burden. The USD 416 social worker/counselor team wanted to share with you some free resources for winter coats, Thanksgiving meal baskets and Christmas gifts (Christmas gift program is for Louisburg children birth to 18). Please be mindful of each deadline for requesting assistance. As far away as they seem, the deadlines will be here before you know it.
If your family could benefit from a little extra support to ease the seasonal burden, then please see our newsletter to learn about some wonderful resources!

Let's Hit a Homerun for our Kids!
On November 4, 2025, Patrons of the Louisburg School District will have the opportunity to vote on a new baseball and softball complex. This new complex will be a ZERO mill increase project. If the vote passes, construction will begin right away and the goal will be to play baseball and softball games on the fields late April/May 2026. Besides baseball and softball, other sports teams will be able to play on the fields, as well as band, dance and physical education classes. As with all of our fields, The LRC and community will have access to them throughout the year. We appreciate your support of this zero mill increase capital improvement for our school district and community. For more information about the ball fields, please visit our school district's website at: https://www.usd416.org/article/2361293

Attendance and School Calendar
Please take note of our school calendars when planning your family's vacations.
Attendance is a focus at BES and we want your children at school! It can be very difficult for students to get caught up sometimes when they miss for extended periods of time. For example, when a student misses a week of school, that is up to 450 minutes of math instruction they are missing!
If your family does have a trip planned, we do not provide lessons or materials ahead of those trips. Teachers will work with you to schedule times when your student can be given that instruction and guided work time to ensure mastery of skills. This may have to happen before or after school, but we will also try to work during the school day as well.
GREAT school habits now help prepare students for future success!
