Happy February! What an exciting week! We celebrated the 100th day of school and Groundhog Day. The student council convened with Mr. Levine and Mrs. Nicolette to decorate the tissue boxes to donate to a nursing home.

On behalf of STEAM teacher Mrs. Conner, I am thrilled to announce the date of Wednesday, March 8, 2023 for our annual KRS STEAM fair. Please see the flyer in this newsletter for more information.

Valentine's Day is coming soon and we are super excited to begin planning for such a fun day for your children. Valentine’s Day will be celebrated in all three elementary schools on Tuesday, February 14, 2023. There will be classroom parties and Valentine’s Day cards.

Valentine’s Day Cards - We request that you adhere to the following guidelines:

• No candy of any kind may be distributed with the cards.

• The cards must be brought to school no later than Friday, February 10, 2023. This will allow for the cards to be distributed before the special day.

• If you elect to participate in the Valentine’s Day Card exchange, it is expected that your child gives a card to every classmate.

Kings Road School has experienced several positive cases of Covid -19 over the last two weeks. Please continue to remain vigilant with screening your child daily for any signs or symptoms of Covid-19 including:

• Fever of 100.0 or higher without the use of fever reducing medicine
• Cough
• Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
• Chills, Muscle or body aches
• Headache
• Sore throat
• Fatigue
• Congestion or runny nose
• Nausea, vomiting or diarrhea

If your child has any of these symptoms, please keep him/her home and testing for Covid-19 with a home antigen test is recommended by the CDC as well as the NJDOH.

In addition, to prevent the spread of any viral illness, please remind your children of the importance of good hand hygiene and respiratory etiquette.

The fifth grade student council worked very hard decorating tissue boxes with funny sayings, trivia facts, and inspirational quotes. These tissue boxes will be donated to a local nursing home.

We have begun the countdown to our visit from author/illustrator, Troy Cummings! He will be here on February 28. Be on the lookout for information from the PTO on how you can order a book for him to sign.

The Madison High School tennis teams are hosting a tennis clinic for students in grades K-8 on April 27th after school.
