Talbot Elementary School

January 18, 2026
Happy Sunday,
The colder days are here, and whenever possible, we do our best to get students outdoors for fresh air and movement. Please keep this in mind as your child gets ready for school. Outdoor time is an important part of the day, even in winter, and helps students stay energized and focused.
We are so proud of the continued effort our students are showing in their schoolwork. Classrooms are filled with learning, perseverance, and growth. Their hard work, and your support at home, truly makes a difference.
Later this week, our students will participate in special in house assemblies presented by Plimoth Patuxet. These assemblies have been generously funded by our Parent Council, and we are grateful for their continued support.
Please remember that there will be no school on Monday, January 19, as we observe Martin Luther King Jr. Day. This day provides an important opportunity to reflect on Dr. King’s legacy and his message of kindness, fairness, and community.
Enjoy the rest of your Sunday!

Weymouth vs. Franklin Food Pantries Face Off in "SOUPer Bowl 2026" Soup Drive.
The Franklin Food Pantry is gearing up to defend its title as SOUPer Bowl Champion, but the Weymouth Food Pantry is ready to make sure that doesn’t happen in this year’s highly anticipated SOUPer Bowl 2026 canned soup competition. The two pantries are asking their communities to donate cans of soup starting January 8, 2026. Have your child bring cans into the front office where there will be a Weymouth Food Pantry box. The pantry that receives the most soup by February 8, 2026, will be named SOUPer Bowl Champ 2026. While SOUPer Bowl 2026 is a friendly, spirited competition, the stakes are profoundly serious. Hunger in Massachusetts is reaching crisis levels, with a staggering 1 in 3 people experiencing food insecurity. This challenge will help stock the shelves in both pantries and combat the skyrocketing hunger in our communities.
