On October 7, Zion’s Mayor McKinney visited our second graders to help us wrap up our unit about communities! He shared his passion for sports—especially basketball!—and gave students a great look into what a mayor does every day. He took time to answer our students' thoughtful questions and left them with an inspiring message: dream big and believe in yourself!

It was wonderful connecting with so many families during parent-teacher conferences! Thank you for taking the time to partner with us in supporting your child's learning and growth. If you have any follow-up questions or missed our time together, please don't hesitate to reach out.

  • Hispanic Heritage Night | Join us on Tuesday, October 13, 4:30 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.

  • Fall Festival | Classroom teachers will send home more details, Friday, October 30

  • Cooler Weather Gear | As the weather cools down, please make sure your child brings a light jacket or sweatshirt to school each day so they stay warm during outdoor recess.

Thank you for your ongoing support and partnership!

  • Timely Arrivals | School and instruction begin promptly at 9:00 a.m. Even a five-minute delay causes students to miss key instructional time. While we fully recognize that unexpected morning emergencies occur, consistent punctuality helps ensure a smooth, confident start to your child's day.

  • Reporting Absences | If your student will be absent, please notify the main office at (847) 872-0255 before 9:00 a.m.

  • Safety Drills | State-required drills will continue throughout the school year. To reassure our students, teachers thoroughly explain each drill in advance so everyone feels secure and prepared.
