HONORING OUR VETERANS ON VETERANS DAY
As we honor our Veterans this coming Wednesday, November 11, please join us at the Marshfield Veterans Day Parade and wreath laying ceremony. The parade begins at 10:30AM. Thank you to all Veterans who provided so much for our freedoms.
PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT
During the day Tuesday, educators and support staff throughout the District took part in comprehensive professional development. The offerings included:
Furnace Brook Middle School and Marshfield High School educators worked with Hannah Ketteman from Artificial Intelligence (AI) for Education in a hands-on session regarding the use of AI in the classroom and for educational purposes. Hannah led the staff in applying pratical strategies and safe guards around AI. This engaging session included a student panel comprised of Marshfield High School students. The students' perspectives on the emergence of AI in their lives was a paramount part of the work.
All elementary educators engaged in a work session with Lisa Bosio from Novak Education who led educators through an exploration of the Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) model. Ms. Bosio also reviewed Universal Design for Learning (UDL) and provided resources and ideas for "UDLing" lessons to meet students' needs. English Language (EL) teachers throughout the district engaged in a conference with MATSOL.
It was a wonderful day of collaboration and sharing of ideas to help teaching, learning, and leading. Thank you to our District-Wide Professional Development Committee and Dr. Ellen Martin for their leadership in organizing the day's activities.
💚 Learning Together, Caring Together! 🩺
MPSD Health Services recently partnered with several South Shore school districts to bring school nurses together for a full day of meaningful and engaging professional development.
The day featured informative presentations on timely topics, opportunities to share ideas, and conversations around best practices to further support the health and well-being of our students and school communities.
Collaborating with colleagues from neighboring districts allowed our nurses to strengthen professional connections, expand their knowledge, and bring back valuable new insights and resources.
We are grateful for the dedication, compassion, and commitment of our school nurses, who play such an important role in keeping our students healthy, safe, and ready to learn each and every day!
Thank you for all you do! 💚🐏

AROUND THE DISTRICT
This year we will strive to continue to create an environment “Where Everyone Belongs,” focusing specifically on the power of “Joy,” as it pertains to student self-discovery educationally and socially in an environment that promotes joyful school communities. We are excited to help students achieve the gains that come from navigating their educational journey, as they understand their strengths and opportunities for growth. We will provide an optimal teaching and learning environment by promoting respect for self and others, nurturing positive relationships, embracing diversity, pursuing excellence, fostering collaboration, inspiring innovation and creativity, promoting responsibility, providing an equitable, supportive environment, and cultivating social emotional wellness.
