This week we will be back on a regular schedule starting with period 1. As a reminder, Tuesday and Thursday are shortened days with dismissal at 1:57 pm.

Students have received their individual PE lockers and will begin to dress for PE classes on Monday, August 29th.

To be prepared for PE students:

• Must dress appropriately. This means wearing a baby-blue T-shirt and navy blue basketball shorts to change into each day. These clothes will get placed in their lockers and taken home each Friday to get washed.
• Must wear clothing that fits them properly. Clothing that is oversized or too tight hinders participation and is not allowed.
• May bring an extra pair of socks and/or tennis shoes to change into specifically for PE.
• Must safely participate in physical activities. This means students may be excluded from certain activities if they have medical notes, wear accessories that may increase the likelihood of injury (big earrings, long nails, etc.), or are not following the instructions.
• May bring deodorant to keep in their lockers, but it cannot be the aerosol kind. Sprays of any kind are not allowed.
• Cell phones must remain in backpacks and inside of lockers.

We're excited to welcome our families to Back to School Night on Wednesday, August 31st from 5:00 to 7:00 pm. Families will have an opportunity to meet teachers and visit classrooms, attend specific meetings by need, and learn about the curriculum and grading policies in the formal presentations. There are two sessions for most of the presentations so that families can structure their visit to meet their needs. Both sessions will have the same information.

Please plan to park in the 3rd and Brand Parking lot and enter through that small gate close to the Parent Center.

Please note: San Fernando Middle School will also be hosting Back to School Night and will be using the BPE field as their parking lot.

On Thursday, September 1, 2022 we will have our Mentorship and Team Building Day. 6th graders are paired with an 8th-grade mentor that they will work with for the year. The day is structured so that they will have an opportunity to get to know each other through participation in team activities. 7th-grade students will be team building as a grade level through the rotations of team games and outdoor activities. Their day will focus on preparing to be a positive mentor for the following year.

School will be closed on Friday, September 2nd and Monday, September 5th in observance of Admission Day and Labor Day. Classes resume on Tuesday, September 6th.
