"Encourage one another and build each other up ..."
1 Thessalonians 5:11
Can you believe we have less than two weeks until Christmas? Time does seem to be flying by, and this week was no exception! We took a week off our Reading curriculum this week, as we had mass, reconciliation, a waterology presentation, and Music, all during our morning ELA time. We will devote much more time to Reading next week, where we will look at argumentative texts, and work through some more of our winter book reports (due January 30). In Math, we started a really challenging unit on fractions. This unit really relies heavily on math facts and recognizing patterns within math. If there is time over break, I recommend practicing math facts, or doing some practice fraction problems on IXL. In Science, we played a card game where students had to create healthy pond ecosystems, and had to balance elements while keeping the CO2 levels healthy for fish life. In Social Studies, we continued work on our State Report, and started to learn more about colonial life. I was impressed with their first chapters of their state report that were turned in this week! Nice work! In Religion, we celebrated the Immaculate Conception and went to reconciliation for the Advent season.
Secret Santa
Thank you to our room moms for organizing our sweet Secret Santa gift exchange! Gifts should be wrapped with a "to" label, but not a "from" label. If you would like to send these in early, they make for great decor under our trees!
