Community info
Hi,
Welcome back! We are SO excited to have our students back in school! We have had a great couple of days and settling into routines.
You should have received a packet of info from your student. Please check their backpacks if you haven't seen it yet! You can also use these links for school supply donations and free/reduced lunch form.
Schoolpay.com link for donating to the school supply fund https://www.schoolpay.com/pay/for/2627-Student-School-Supply-Voluntary-Fee/SemU1sF Families can also pay using cash or a check (include child’s name on the memo line)
Free and Reduced price meal online application – you can apply on paper from the packet sent home or online. We need everyone to fill this out in order to continue to qualify as a Title 1 school. You can also qualify for things like yearbook costs, field trips, school photos, etc. Even if you do not think you would qualify for free and reduced lunch, please fill out the form! We need everyone's forms! https://www.myschoolapps.com/Application
If your student is sick or has an appointment, please call 206 252 5324 or email greenlake@seattleschools.org to let us know. If you have a change in plans for pickup at the end of the day please email greenlake@seattleschools.org or call the main office prior to 2:30. You can also email the teacher but they may be busy teaching and not see it, so calling the office is best.
Please be vigilant and talk with your children about walking in groups when walking to and from school. We want kids to be safe and while we have a lovely neighborhood, we are in a busy city. Just a reminder to stay on sidewalks and in groups and keep your wits about you! We will have district security rolling by as well to support our neighborhood at dismissal periodically.
If you need support, like food, housing, mental health referrals, etc. please reach out to our counselor Monica Schneider mmschneider@seattleschools.org for information.
Please send your student to school every day! We know that regular attendance is truly important to learning. If you child is vomiting, has diarrhea, or a fever of over 100 degrees, please do NOT send them.
Please also pack an extra set of clothes for your student in the event of wetness, accidents, and general messiness. You can put an extra set of clothing (including socks and undies) in a ziploc bag with their name on and they can keep it in their room or in their backpack.
Warmly,
Liz McFarland (she/her)
