A Message from the Principal
Partnering with Families in Decision-Making at Coosa Elementary
At Coosa Elementary, we believe that families are essential partners in every child’s success. Through our participation in the Measurable Results Assessment (MRA), we gather feedback from students, staff, and families to better understand how we are doing in areas such as leadership, culture, and academics. This tool helps us reflect, celebrate progress, and make informed decisions that support continuous improvement.
One important area within the MRA focuses on Family and Community Engagement, including how well schools include families in decisions that impact their child’s learning and overall school experience.
At Coosa, we are committed to ensuring families have a voice and meaningful opportunities to engage in decision-making. Some of the ways we do this include:
- Providing regular communication through newsletters, ParentSquare, and school updates to keep families informed and involved.
- Creating opportunities for feedback through surveys, conferences, and ongoing communication with teachers and school leaders.
- Partnering with families during events such as Passport Days, learning nights, conferences, and SIC.
- Encouraging participation in school initiatives and opportunities where family voice helps shape programs, supports, and experiences for our students.
Last year’s MRA results reflected strong family partnerships, with a score of 89 in School & Family Partnerships and 85 in Family Engagement, demonstrating the impact of our collaborative efforts.
Over the next several weeks, we will continue highlighting specific areas from the MRA and invite your input as we work together to strengthen our school community.
Thank you for your continued partnership and for helping us ensure that every decision we make supports the success and well-being of our Bobcats. 🐾
