Meet Ms. Poirier
Hi everyone! My name is Sarah Poirier and I am so happy to be joining Vinal School this year as a kindergarten aide. This is my second year in education. Last year I started as a substitute at Center Elementary in Hanover, and in less than two months I was hired full time as an ABA tutor in 4th grade. I enjoyed it so much that after 20 years working in a corporate environment I have decided to pursue my teaching license, and have passed my first two MTEL exams. It’s never too late to do what you love!
My time outside of school I spend with my daughter Fiona (8), my son Chase (7) and our two cats. I also enjoy golfing, going to the beach, scuba diving, watching movies and listening to true crime podcasts.
I feel so fortunate to be part of this school. I have felt so welcomed since my very first day and every staff member I have met has been wonderful!
Updates from Technology/Library
We’re off to a great start in Tech/Library, and we’re ready for some volunteers! Volunteers are tasked primarily with shelving books and tidying up the shelves. It really makes a difference to have an organized library when students are looking for books. As we get further into Tech lessons, we can sometimes use an extra set of hands to support the kids, especially K-2. I’m going to try something a little different with the sign-up this year. I will open four slots for volunteers each day. You can sign up to come during your child’s class or any time that works for you. I will post a class schedule on the Sign-Up Genius for reference. We’ll try this for a couple of months and then assess how it’s working. Please help your child/ren to remember to return their library books each week; see the schedule below for a reminder. Please feel free to email me with any questions eileen.ryan@norwellschools.org
While we’re setting up the Sign-Up Genius, if you are interested and available this week to shelve some books, please email me and we can set up a time.
