Smore Analytics

Analytics are a critical part of creating and sharing amazing newsletters.

With Smore Analytics, you can see where your traffic is coming from, who's opening and clicking on your newsletter, and what they're clicking on. You can use these metrics to understand what kind of content your audience loves, and iterate on it in your next awesome newsletter.

On our Free plan, analytics are unlocked after a minimum of 30 views, and you can only see data from a maximum of five email recipients.

If you're on a Smore Pro plan, you get immediate access to Analytics, and you can see data from all the people you've emailed.

Users on any of our Pro plans get immediate access to all their analytics.

For users on our Free plan, Smore Analytics will activate once a newsletter receives 30 views. Sharing your newsletter via email, Facebook or Twitter is the quickest way to drive people to your newsletter. Once you've hit 30 views, analytics will be unlocked.

On the upper-left hand side of your analytics dashboard, you'll see a little graph of newsletter visits. This gives you a quick indication of the total visits that your newsletter has received.

The Email Report tab allows you to see who opened and clicked the email that you sent. You can also make sure that all your newsletters were delivered.

Remember, users on our Free plan can only see email report data for the first five recipients.

Users on a Smore Pro plan get full access to all data immediately. Pro users also have the option to export their their analytics data to Excel, if they wish.

If you click on the Metrics tab, and you'll see Incoming traffic sources, on the left-hand side.

Traffic sources can be any way that a reader was able to access your Smore newsletter. So, for example, if you sent your newsletter via email, or posted it on social media, you'll see those traffic sources represented there. For more info on traffic sources, click here.

In the middle of the Analytics dashboard, you'll see a section called Interacting. This panel tells you what people are doing on your newsletter. If, for example, your newsletter was liked on Facebook or shared on Twitter, you'll see that represented here. This section also shows an estimation of how much time readers spend on your newsletter.

On the right side of your Analytics dashboard, you'll see your newsletter Goals. This tracker tells you everything you want to know about the performance of your newsletter, including:

1. How many readers click on the links contained within your newsletter

2. Readers who've sent you a message

3. Readers who chose to subscribe to your newsletters

It can be important (and just plain cool!) to see what cities your visitors are coming from. To do that, you can use the map view. Simply click on the map on the top right to see a world map with a pin for each city where your visitors are seeing your newsletter.
