Want to spend more time at Pike Lake?

Are you interested in subbing for our paras that supervise recess and lunch? Para subs have great hours in the middle of the day (they don't conflict with your child's drop off and pick up)!

If you'd like to discuss the possibility of subbing for paras in our building, please contact April Notsch:

april.notsch@mvpschools.org, 651-621-7402

Thank you for attending Pizza and Bingo Night!

It was a lot of fun to see so many Pike Lake families last week. We hope everyone had a great time!

Winter Weather

Cold Weather

We will go outside for recess if it is 0 degrees or warmer, or the windchill is -10 degrees or warmer.

Winter Clothing

Please send appropriate clothing for children to go outside in the snow and cold. This includes a warm coat, snow pants, winter boots, waterproof gloves or mittens, and a hat.

If you need help getting these items for your child, reach out to our deans and they can assist you: nicole.rasch@moundsviewschools.org or tammy.maidi@moundsviewschools.org

Lost Items

Label all of your child's clothing! Kids often take off, drop or forget something. Our PTA goes through the lost and found, and anything with a name is returned to the student.

If something has been lost, you may come check the lost and found. Please bring an ID and check in with the office during school hours. The building is open from 6:30 am - 6:00 pm.

Reporting Absences

To ensure the office receives messages about your child's attendance, please use one of the two options below. Attendance messages sent directly to teachers will not be received by the office if the teacher is absent or does not read/forward the message.

1) ParentVUE - Select "Report Absences" on the Student List/Home Screen (Screenshot of mobile device. Desktop version is very similar). Click here for the ParentVUE login link. Note: For midday pickups, notify the teacher directly via email, please do not submit the absence on ParentVue.

2) Call the attendance line: 651-621-7401. This is a voicemail only line so you can leave a message 24 hours a day.

When reporting absences, please be sure to indicate the reason for your child's absence. If your student is ill, please list your child's symptoms.

Birthday Celebrations

If you wish to bring something to share with classmates for a birthday celebration, please limit it to a non-food acknowledgement. This is a district policy for grades K-5 to provide a safe environment for those with food sensitivities and/or allergies. Donation examples include, but are not limited to: a favorite book or board game for the class collection, stickers, pencils, pens, markers, erasers, etc. Do not send latex balloons.

It is not required to send anything to acknowledge a student's birthday.

As the weather turns cold and the air gets dry, please keep a Chapstick or lip balm in your student's backpack. This will help keep their focus and time on learning and having fun in class!

If your child has received a change of dry clothes from the nurse's office, please wash and return to the office at your convenience. We also accept donations of gently used pants, underwear, socks and shirts in all kindergarten sizes.
