Summer Projects
Recreation Field Renovation & Excavation Project
This past summer we had RPM Mowing complete an excavation project on the south side of our building. The project addressed the water retention issue we have been having in that portion of our property. As part of that project, RPM created a more usable and level recreation area for our students. We appreciated their partnership and job well done!
PROJECT PLAYGROUND
PROJECT PLAYGROUND - PHASE ONE
With a generous donation from our Parent Booster, we sealed our blacktop this summer. We were excited to have our alumnus, Keigan Rowe complete that project. The process of adding some activities on the blacktop (four square, hopscotch) has begun and we are planning other additions as well. With the funds we purchased a canopy for our ECC play area and some new playground equipment for the students to use including a four square in the air net, a gaga ball pit, and some new soccer goals. Shout out to the Claibourn family for helping paint the swing set and monkey bars. We had an old playground piece removed and will be reinforcing our swings.
PROJECT PLAYGROUND - PHASE TWO
Pricing for the reconfiguration of the overall space, adding a circular path for walking and purchasing a new piece to replace the large multi piece equipment will require more fundraising. Our project playground committee will meet next month and lay out the plans for PHASE TWO. We are excited about the changes we have made and look forward to a total transformation of our space.

School Store
We will participate in the SCHOOL STORE fundraiser again this year. Forms will come home next week and it is super simple to participate. The number one thing students enjoy is that students get a stuffed animal slap band just for returning the form. School Store has some fun ones this year!
When your friends and family shop at the School Store your child can also earn other fun prizes AND their teacher earns school store bucks to spend for his/her classroom.
We will run this fundraiser September 3-10.
FIELD TRIPS
Throughout the year our classes will take field trips. For some of those trips we will ask for parents/guardians to volunteer to help chaperone. Parents/guardians are required to have a background check to attend as a chaperone.
If you have any questions reach out to the office.
COUGAR CHEER CLUB
The Cougar Cheer Club had their first meeting this past week. The 6th graders on the squad were the students who came to Mrs. Vaughn three years ago with a plan and request to start a cheer club! Mrs. Crusha and Mrs. Wright do a great job organizing and leading this group of students.
This year they will be performing at the Fall Festival on Friday, October 25th and perform at the Spring Fling on Saturday, April 5th. The Cougar Cheer Club will sponsor the annual Youth Cheer Clinic will be on Wednesday, April 2nd from 4:00-6:00.
This year the cheerleaders will focus on making sure everyone has the proper prerequisites and form to help them be successful in cheer skills. They will also work on helping prepare any 6th graders who are interested in trying out for the middle school team next year. This week we they had their first practice and everyone did AMAZING! It is going to be a fantastic year!
