Morning Car Pool
Dear Liberty Point Elementary Families,
I hope this message finds you well. As we continue our ongoing commitment to ensuring a safe and efficient arrival experience for all students, we would like to share updates to our morning carpool procedures. These adjustments are designed to increase safety, improve traffic flow, and support a smooth start to each school day.
Beginning immediately, families will have the following options for morning drop-off:
1. Park and Walk Students to the Crossing Area Near the Flag Pole
Parents who prefer to walk their children to the building may park in designated parking spaces and walk students to the adult stationed at the crossing area. For everyone’s safety, please do not allow students to walk through the parking lot unattended.
2. Utilize Bus Transportation
Riding the school bus remains one of the safest and most efficient ways for students to arrive at school. Families are encouraged to use bus transportation whenever possible.
3. Drop Off at the Front Entrance
Parents may continue to use the front entrance carpool lane for student drop-off. To keep the line moving safely, please ensure your child is ready to exit the car when you reach the drop-off point.
Thank you for your support and cooperation as we work to maintain a safe environment for all students. Your partnership helps us create a smooth and positive start to every school day.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact the school office at 470-254-3510.
Warm regards,
Tanisha L. Lewis

February may be the shortest month, but it’s packed with learning. Missing just a few days can have a big impact on progress. Missing 2 days in February means losing 10% of instructional time for the month. The late bell rings at 7:40 AM. Students should be in their classroom ready to learn at that time.
Early Check Out Impacts Instruction. Please Allow Students To Stay All Day.
NO EARLY DISMISSAL AFTER 2 P.M.

Counselor's Corner
Parents, thank you so much for the kind messages and words of appreciation during National School Counseling Week. It is an honor to work with your children and support their academic and personal growth, and I'm grateful for the opportunity to serve this community.
To my wonderful students: thank you for the cards, fist bumps, high-fives, and kind words this week! Seeing you grow and succeed is the best part of my job. You are the reason I love being a school counselor! Keep reaching for the STARS!
As we quickly move through our second semester, I believe our scholars have what it takes to be amongst the best and brightest of the Fulton County Schools, and maybe even the world; however, we need them to be able to do even BETTER! Help them to understand kindness over the break by reminding them the importance of treating others the way they wish to be treated: with respect, kindness and compassion. Join me in helping them understand that they don't have to be friends with everyone but they should be friendly towards everyone, especially if they want people to be friendly to them. Keeping our hands to ourselves and keeping our words kind to one another goes a long way in helping to create an inclusive environment where all can learn and be the BEST version of themselves. Remember that their best can't be achieved without a little assistance from our parents and guardians. GO PATRIOTS!!
We are proud to have our partnership with Chris180, one of the area's premiere mental health, child welfare and family service organizations, in empowering families and helping children overcome difficulties they may face. If you feel that your child may benefit from a deeper therapeutic interaction, please contact me for more information regarding their services for our scholars.
The Counselling Dept. and the Attendance Team would like to remind you the importance of having an exemplary attendance record. Absences and tardiness can affect the whole classroom if the teacher has to slow down learning to help children catch up. Attending school regularly helps children feel better about school—and themselves. We start school at 7:40am each and every school day and scholars can be dropped off as early as 7:10am. Start building the habit of arriving every day on time so they learn right away that going to school on time, every day is important. Eventually good attendance will be a skill that will help them succeed in high school, college, and beyond.
Clicking here will take you to my webpage, which provides information about the counseling services at Liberty Point Elementary, as well as some resources you can use at home. Please check the webpage often as it is updated periodically to include new resources and information gathered throughout the school year.
