DISTRICT SHOUT-OUT!! DISTRICT SHOUT-OUT!!

Trimble Local School District Trimble Local School District

Trimble Local Commits to Wellness!

The SST 16 Team would like to congratulate Trimble's SEL Team team as they continue to find ways to elevate the mental well-being of students and staff. They recently hosted a student-staff morale building day in the middle school. This day was designed to create opportunities for students and staff to connect and build positive relationships. It was filled with mindfulness activities, yoga, equine based connection activities, and morale building. The counselors and socio-emotional coordinator partnered with a number of community organizations including Rural Action, Hopewell Health Centers, and Natural Freedom Wellness Center to support their students and staff. We applaud Trimble for their continued efforts to support the well-being of both staff and students!

Principal 2.0: Three Keys to Maximizing Impact

The principal’s role continues to change―alongside our changing world―and how we can embrace the transformation in short order. As crucial in-school influencers of student learning, principals have an opportunity and an obligation to maximize student achievement. Even in difficult times of crisis, there’s room for principals to take action. Evidence-Based Interventions in Literacy

Examine evidence-based interventions that support students as they move toward literacy proficiency. In Ohio law, eventually all students reading below grade level must be on a Reading Improvement Monitoring Plan (RIMP) that documents the use of evidence-based intervention strategies until they are reading on grade level. Examine the work of the Youngstown City Schools District and learn tangible ways to replicate their efforts, including the creation and implementation of decision rules around evidence-based interventions. Additionally, learn what institutions of higher education are doing to prepare teachers to meet this challenge. Register Now
