Staying Safe From Phishing Scams

🚨 Watch Out for Fake Party Invites

Scammers are sending fake party invitations that pretend to come from popular sites like Evite, Paperless Post, and Punchbowl.

The Goal:

Steal your info: They ask you to log in to RSVP, then capture your password.
Infect your device: They trick you into downloading files containing viruses.

5 Red Flags to Spot Fake Invites:

Requires a login just to view the invite. (Real platforms don't do this!)
Forces you to download a file to see the details.
Misspelled web address or weird email domain.
Sent from a personal email address instead of the RSVP service's official domain.
Vague details or from someone you barely know.

What to Do:

Check with the host: Text or call the person listed to confirm they actually sent it.
If you got tricked: Don't panic—immediately change your password to a strong, new one and report the message.
