KMS NEWSLETTER

Dear Kodiak Middle School Families,
We hope your Thanksgiving holiday was filled with family, friends, and gratitude! As we return to school, the next three weeks will be filled with awesome activities leading up to winter break on December 23rd. As we dive into the excitement of this busy season, we kindly ask for your support in encouraging students to remain focused, demonstrate kindness, and maintain positive behavior. Together, we can create an environment where everyone can enjoy and fully participate in the wonderful activities ahead. Here’s a preview of what’s ahead:
- The 3rd Annual Arm Wrestling Tournament will bring fun and friendly competition to campus, after school in the KMS Commons.
- The Winter Harmonies Concert will showcase the incredible talents of our student musicians in KMS Band, Orchestra, and Choir. Family, friends, and the general public are warmly invited to attend this special event on December 9th at 7pm in the Gerald C. Wilson Auditorium.
- School-wide MAP Testing will take place starting on December 10th, offering a great opportunity to assess and celebrate student progress.
- The Grief and Loss Group will launch on December 10th, during 7th period, to provide valuable support for students. Registration is required.
- Drama Club Auditions for Camelot & Camelittle will provide opportunities for students to shine on stage. Auditions will be held December 12-13th from 3:30-5 in the Drama Pod of the Gerald C. Wilson Auditorium.
- And of course, our beloved Line Dancing Assembly, a cherished KMS tradition, will get everyone moving and grooving the last day before the break, December 20th.
Details about all of these activities will be shared further down in the newsletter, on our Facebook Page, our school website, and on the digital bulletin board in front of the school.
Finally, a heartfelt thank you for the time, effort, and care you provide at home to support your students. Your partnership is essential to making KMS a thriving and positive space for learning and growth. We are truly grateful for all you do to help make this season a joyful and successful one for our entire school community.
Wishing you warm and happy holidays,
Rena Rankin, Principal
Judith Bruns, Assistant Principal
