THE MUSTANG MESSENGER

May & Summer 2026

THE MUSTANGMESSENGERMay & Summer 2026

Message from the Principal Message from the Principal

The 2025-2026 has officially wrapped up and our students are beginning their summer break.

Before we get too far into summer break, I'd like to reflect on some of the great things that began during the 2025-2026 school year.

  • STEAM lab was added a as related arts class.
  • The student-led morning news crew recorded announcements each day.
  • Students, faculty, and families participated in a One School, One Book initiative.
  • The Brainy Bunch completed service projects throughout the school.
  • Positive behavior was recognized with Gotcha Cards and the Jolly Trolley.
  • Students were recognized and celebrated with Awards Assemblies at the end of each nine weeks.

We are proud of the successes and accomplishments experienced by our faculty and students this year and are looking to continue this positive momentum.

Preparations are already underway for the 2026-2027 school year. Please check your email regularly to update registration information for returning students. We also ask that you continue to check SeeSaw messages, follow us on social media, and check the school website for information regarding the start of the 2026-2027 school year.

Finally, congratulations and good luck to our fifth grade students as they move on to middle school. Thank you all for a wonderful school year! I wish everyone a safe and relaxing summer. We look forward to welcoming students back on August 6th!

The Mustang Way - Jolly Trolley

In our last newsletter, we recognized Mrs. Barnes' fourth graders for winning a visit from the Jolly Trolley. There was a tie!

We also need to recognize Mrs. Sell's class for their outstanding behavior in related arts and lunch during the month of March.

Our April winners of the Jolly Trolley were Mrs. Loy's third graders.

We also celebrated Mrs. Huff's second grade class. They earned the most Jolly Trolley points for the entire school and were treated to a day at the park, lunch from McDonalds, and ice cream from Lollipops!

PTO Updates PTO Updates

As the 2025–2026 school year comes to an end, the PTO would like to thank all of the parents, teachers, and students who took time out of their busy schedules to help with event setup, Book Fairs, Santa Shop, Field Day, and so much more. Events like these would not be successful without your support, and we truly appreciate all of your help throughout the year.

That being said, one of our goals for next year is to increase parent involvement. If anyone has suggestions on ways, we can encourage more participation, please let us know. We are always open to new ideas and feedback. The PTO not only sponsors events throughout the year, but also supports teachers and staff, coordinates and sponsors events for families and students, provides financial assistance to the school for student supplies, creates a strong community of parent support, and helps open the doors of the school so parents feel more involved in the day-to-day lives of their students at school.

The PTO had a successful and busy year filled with events such as the Fall Carnival, Santa Shop, Cookies with Santa, Winter Dance, Spirit Nights, and more. We also introduced a few new events and fundraisers this year. Our Mustang Blanket fundraiser helped purchase supplies for the Haunted Classroom that debuted during the Fall Carnival, and we also hosted a Movie Night for students and their families. Next year, we hope to continue these events while also bringing in new ideas and activities for our school community.

Our Color Run fundraiser was also a success, raising over $13,000. While we fell slightly short of our goal, these funds will be used to improve the walking track around the playground and help purchase playground equipment for our inclusion students.

If you are interested in becoming more involved with the PTO, whether as an officer or a volunteer, we would love to have you join us. Please let us know if you would like to be a part of helping make next year another great success. We hope to see you at Open House to sign up for PTO for the 2026–2027 school year.
