PRIDE Meeting and Community Lunch
Building a Strong FES Community
Today marked the first P.R.I.D.E. Meeting of the school year at Francestown Elementary School, filled with excitement and community spirit. As students and staff arrived, they were greeted by Leo the Lion, our school’s mascot, who enthusiastically welcomed everyone at the door. Leo then joined in to help present the FES Values that will guide our all-school meetings and daily interactions.
During the meeting, the following FES Values were shared:
Positive: We foster positivity by helping those around us, keeping our hands and feet to ourselves, and respecting each other's personal space.
Responsible: Being responsible means being a good listener—paying attention to what others are saying while keeping your voice off.
Independent: We demonstrate independence by being ready to participate and knowing when to stop and listen.
Determined: We are determined to stay focused, share what we’ve learned, and persevere.
Empathetic: Empathy means supporting our FES friends by applauding appropriately and listening when they speak.
After celebrating these core values, the meeting continued with a special moment as Ms. Sanchez's class shared a video about The Dot by Peter Reynolds. The story highlights creativity, determination, and problem-solving—perfect themes to inspire our students at the start of the year.
The day concluded with a family-style meal, bringing together FES students, staff, and families for a time of connection and celebration. It was truly a wonderful way to begin the school year, reinforcing our commitment to learning, community, and growth!
Francestown Elementary School Thanks the Community for Open House Success
The staff of Francestown Elementary School would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to our incredible community for your support! We were thrilled to have an amazing turnout for our Open House on September 25th.
The evening began with a community meal, made possible through a generous partnership between New Boston Pizza and our PTO, offering a pizza party to start the night on a festive note. Afterward, community members lined the front hallway to highlight various opportunities available in our town. The Grapevine, Rec Center, PTO, Town Library, and Crotched Mountain were all on hand to share exciting programming and resources with attendees.
Students then took the lead, proudly guiding their families through their classrooms to showcase the amazing work they’ve been doing. Teachers were excited to welcome everyone into their spaces, and students delighted in teaching their families math games and leading them on scavenger hunts around the school.
The evening wrapped up on the playground, where everyone gathered to chat and enjoy popsicles. It was a fun-filled night, and a wonderful way to kick off the school year! Thank you again to everyone who helped make this event a success.
