Hello Navigators!

We are so excited for the start of the school year. We are back, preparing the school, lesson planning and ensuring we are all ready for the return of students.

To ensure your student is enrolled in school and assigned to a classroom please make sure you complete the Data Confirmation. Our office is open from 9-1 to assist with registration. See our website for information throughout the school year.

We will welcome students back to campus for the first day of school on Thursday, August 14th. School will be from 8:15-12:25 PM on both Thursday and Friday this week. Beginning Monday, August 18th we will be on our regular school schedule for grades 1-5. School will be from 8:15-2:55 except for Wednesday when dismissal is always 12:25.

For TK and Kindergarten dismissal will be 12:25 PM through August 29th. Beginning September 2nd, TK and Kindergarten dismissal will be at 2:10 PM, except for Wednesday when dismissal is 12:25. Please reach out with any questions.

We will open the campus to walk your student to their line-up area on Thursday the 14th and Friday the 15th. On Monday the 18th we will return to a closed campus where all visitors must check in at the office.

We are very proud of our participation in the Leader in Me program. It develops lifelong habits for our students and provides amazing ways to support students academically and socially while building their leadership skills. Hello Nichols Families,

After successfully piloting a school safety and audio system at two of our schools during the 23-24 school year, at the June 2024 Board of Education meeting, the Board approved installing this system at all OUSD schools.

This enhancement serves as an update to our current bell and intercom system. Each classroom teacher will have a device on a lanyard that amplifies sound throughout the

classroom during every lesson. Every student, no matter where they sit, will be able to clearly hear the teacher and information being taught.

Along with audio and video capabilities, the new device incorporates a safety notification button to alert administration and front offices of any emergency situation. In the event of a classroom emergency, the teacher can activate the camera for office staff to view the situation. The device identifies the exact location to initiate school safety protocols. Further, and only in the event of a lockdown or active shooter emergency, Oceanside Police Department can utilize these same cameras to access views into classrooms and throughout the school.
